Just a little tip on the Priorities in Fight, i think your biggest priority is to target the buff/heal class. as a ranger main, in team fights, i solo out my focus on clerics, bards, warlock, as those characters tend to play back line and constantly help their team (warlock tend to play curses for heals and then push BOC in the middle of fights for finishing blows) i’ve seen so many fights go one-sided because an entire team will focus the DPS fighter/barbarian while he’s getting constant heals/buffs from a cleric.

One way I have found to mitigate landmines (very slightly) is to dual wield short sword with an arming sword or rapier if you prefer. The extra hit at the start from the short sword can often be enough to kill a rogue and you can stack more weapon damage on your hits too. Your way seems a little more effective, but I'm not sure I'm good enough to drop the ration just yet because it lets you play out of zone and heal whilst running away with no speed penalty. Dual wielding also helps with mob clear. Spear might be good when you have enough move speed to counter it's high MS penalty, but with my current skill level, I consider it a PvE weapon. It should be noted that I have mainly been playing duos with another ranger player and have found basically everything you have said to be very accurate. (more vigour with no front line for example.) Great guide.

Hey, sick guide, I wonder what the optimal range for hitting shotgun is. If you're too close to the dummy the arrows hit each other and you hit less, if you're slightly further away you hit 4 arrows maximum. Does hitting a player alleviate the arrows hitting arrows issue as they go into the players inventory?

the windlass does "require a stationary reload" but you can bunny hop that reload to move decently fast during it

I was playing wizard for a long time, but I wasn't really eficcent with him. Was playing fighter and cleric after, they were better option for me. Now, after wipe, I decided to try ranger, and after few games I realised that I quiet like him. After that guide- I'm pretty sure I will like him more :P

I kind of like quick fire over quick shot, because i have problem landing all 3 quick shots any thoughts ? or am i just bad lol

I've only gotten one kill with a Windlass, and it was because of my trap. (I'm not very good yet 😂) Anyway, we were in Crypts, and I started in the Tombs. I spawned in the little room where you go out the door and turn left, there's a door on your right, and the hallway to your left has the coffins on the shelves and a skeleton archer at the end of the hall. We were pretty comfortably inside the circle, so I was gonna take my time. I killed the first skeleton that pops up, and he dropped a green Windlass. I figured fuck it, I've never used one before, let's see what everyone complains about. I set a trap right next to the door that would be at my back as I went down the hall, and I turned out the torch by it. I pull out my recurve and start fighting the archer at the end of the hall before I get in range of the mummy that pops up. As I loot the mummy, the archer, and a coffin, the door at the end of the hall opens. I turn and don't see anyone, but then: _CLINK_ Lo and behold, a Rogue has his foot in my trap. So, I draw out the Windlass and drop his ass like a trophy deer from halfway down the hall. 🤣 The only other kill I have that comes close to that satisfying was the Rogue who thought jumping into the mouth of a crawlspace with me was smart when I was a PDR fighter with a Falchion.

Love it mate. Im trying to get better at Ranger. A few other questions, what sensitivity do you recommend, im playing slightly higher than you it seems but you hit more shots than me. Positioning in teamfights and callouts, im forever getting my angle blocked by teammates and end up not doing enough dps or hitting them when they do a weird strafe. Thanks again, im dropping biscuits for multishot from now on.

Whenever I play ranger I feel like I do no dmg, Ill hit someone with SO many arrows and my m1's and then once im dead they still are only at like 40%

I am not sure I agree at all with forcefull shot being useless, I have found so many oppurtunities to use it. Its basically a stun, and in barb meta its saved me many times. Stops people from interactions as well. No sneaking portals, or doors when you have it equipped.

I love the guide, and while the windlas (Known as Midlas by my friends) isnt great, it us the AWP of Dark and Darker. Getting those far one taps on weaker classes such as rogues and wizards feels amazing. I usually bring a windlas and a bow, windlas to get the first shot off, and the bow to finish off or use skills

Honestly, IMO, Arrows just need to not have a reload feature at this point. The Inventory already counts as our Quiver. And Fighters/Barbs don't have an equip or reload feature for Frans. It's stupid.

Great vid man. But you need to adjust your ingame sound an effect volume. It is waaay to loud. Even in part where you started a match and was commenting your moves I could not hear you cuz of skelly dying or hitting. But nice content overall 😉😉👍

A gold ranger with a literal bis survival bow killed 2 of my teammates and wiped a trio solo. I got lucky and he got overconfident and chased me into darkness where I ganked them. That being said, they 1v6 and killed 5. Now I wanna try ranger lmfao.

You’re sleeping on the windlass brotha. No one wants them so you can buy god rolls for super cheap. Has most potential to one shot over any other weapon in the game. I use it like a secondary multi shot.
