As we count down the days to Halo Infinite's launch, our full recap of the Halo series continues. Last time, we talked about Combat Evolved and the Master Chief and Cortana's first mission together, which ended with the destruction of the Halo Ring - Installation 04 - that the game was set on. Here, we'll be talking about Halo 2, and its much more ambitious and large-scale story.

The Anniversary version of the game looks SOOO good. Cutscenes look like a 2020 or newer game, and while it still shows a bit of wear, is superb for being a remastered version of a 18-year-old game.

The Halo lore is deep as is most works of art. If you're new to the series and haven't been following since childhood, it can be a lot to digest. This is extremely well thought out and offers great value. Thank you.

I had Halo 1, 2, and 3 as a kid and still didn't learn the story. I was just worried about blasting "aliens" back then. lol 😂

The arbiter is far from the highest rank, infact it is basically the lowest, as a disgraced soldier.

It technically IS the highest rank. Even though it’s still an honourably dishonourably role. Still a high rank.

@@anitelufalemei4200 i wrote a big reply and it got deleted accidentally. To sum it up, We're both right in a way. The arbiter WAS the highest rank. And now is infact the lowest rank. Theoretically...the modern arbiter in present day ranks below everyone including grunts.

Gotta give it to starwars. There’s plot holes in halo due to the switching of companies and things like that. It wasn’t meant to be a story game. Still pretty awesome tho considering I’m sitting here watching hours of lore videos

I never understood why the machines shot at the covonent during the Arbiter missions. In the first game they turn on Chief when he finds out the truth about Halo. So why would they work with the rebels and fire at the arbiter’s squad?

I recently started playing Halo, I have an Xbox 360. I was looking for Halo 1, I found out it had a remastered version for Xbox 360 and I really enjoyed Halo CE Anniversary and now its time for Halo 2. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the remastered version on the 360 and I tried playing Halo 2 for the original Xbox but coming from Halo CE Anniversary this was a huge downgrade in graphics for me😭 I don't feel like playing the Halo 2 because of that. :/ That's why I'm here so I can skip playing Halo 2 and play Halo 3 directly after Halo 1 but i need to know what the storyline is in Halo 2. Edit: I wish I had a newer console so I could play the remastered version of Halo 2 because DAMN! This looks so freaking good!

Same. I played the 4 or 5 halos before but forgot what happened. So I started playing MCC to get ready for halo infinite story. I played 1, 2 and ODST but after than took a break to play other games and never got around to continuing it for over half 6 months. Gonna get back to it and continue with H3 but kinda forgot the details of Halo 2 so here I am. Also Xbox one has been out for a while if that’s what you’re trying to get. Whether it’s that, next gen, or pc just save up and by yourself one.

Turns out the game was rushed and not to mention didn't have time to finsh because there on tight deadline and due to technical limitations not suited for the original xbox but according to lead writer he says that the original that the arbiter learns more of the forerunners the place of the elites and close out his cycle but and he says that halo 2 was ment to be the arbiter game and his story not the master chief
