I went through a phase where the task of organising family funerals was left up to me . I didn't mind . I think it is an honour more than a duty and I like graveyards . I've always found them interesting. The only time I was really creeped out was for my Uncle Eddie's funeral . He was cremated and as is tradition in my family, we waited at the crematorium for the ashes . His was the last of the day and it was about 8pm when the ashes were ready . There were just 3 of us left waiting , my brother in law, his son in law and me . When it was ready the caretaker sent me to get the release document signed by the manager who's office was on the other side . There are two sections in this particular crematorium and they are joined by an underground tunnel. It was dark outside and I decided to use the tunnel as a short cut . We were also quite tired and in a hurry to get home . The tunnel is about 1.5 meters wide and in a curved shape so you could only probably see about 2 meters at a time in front of you. It was very well lit. I started walking and about 30 meters in I got this really eerie feeling . Everything was so quiet . I was feeling very uneasy and started walking faster . Then out of nowhere I hear this soft but distinct voice say "I'm here". I froze . I could hardly breath. I was totally paralysed. My heart was racing and I felt like my insides had just dropped to the ground . And then I heard . No no don't be scared it's me you're here for the release . Turns out it was the manager . I couldn't see his office because of the curve in the tunnel and almost missed him .

Destination America picks up stories and programs of the paranormal. Usually with a narrator and reenactments (which, when they are not first hand accounts they are not very convincing to me but they often have actors pretending to be the persons having experienced it but you can tell when a person is remembering (and reliving) their story or just reading it from a script. Either way, the shows seem popular. I'm not always a fan but people seem to like it.

I'm from Louisiana and grew up in a house that had a little boy's spirit, that visited with us. He now takes up residence with my twin sister. I think hearing about or even experiencing encounters with spirits is considered "common", especially from in the most southern parts of the state. Thank you for doing such interesting stories, in such a masterful way.

Well Denise Gregory I have just watched this video with one of my cats( the youngest one in fact) on my lap and when the music came on and it was very eerie and apparition type figures she stopped purring immediately and her eyes widened and the pupils were huge and she was just transfixed watching on my phone but she did look like she may bolt at any minute,so I turned the sound down a bit and smoothed her to calm her,I think she may have seen or heard something within the video? Who knows?

I worked for a funeral home/cemetery for five years. This company owns six locations throughout Southern California (it is a very large and well known franchise). I worked graveyard shift in the mortuary. Only myself and the security guard patrolling the cemetery were present most nights and I too had some very interesting experiences, as did the security guard. One night he came in and we were exchanging some stories and it was during that conversation we discovered we’d both been seeing the same person on the grounds at night. I was never scared. I always felt like nothing would hurt me because I’m genuinely a good-hearted person. I felt very much open to any encounters with spiritual beings and welcomed their approach. The only thing I feared were the occasional fruit-bats that entered through open windows periodically. I expressed concern about this and was told “they’re harmless fruit bats.” I challenged them because why were they coming into the mortuary looking for fruit if the cemetery outside is full of trees? I never got a solid answer on that.

I've had a similar experience before. My late uncle who passed away due to cancer used to smoke right outside my house. We lived right next to each other. My desk is situated right in front of a window and one night as I was sitting there working, there was suddenly this strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from nowhere. I walked outside and the smell got even stronger. But as soon as I stepped about 5 feet away from my window, there is no hint of cigarette scent at all. I simply said, "uncle I know you're here. Why are you still smoking? You know that's bad for you. " Of course there was no reply but I was certain he came to visit me. It was more of a sad rather than scary experience for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed the video Beau, as always. An excellent story, and wonderfully descriptive. I had a lovely, yet spooky mental image throughout, including, (strangely) Bette Davis, starring as Miss Georgia - weird. I'm certain that when viewers, including myself, mention that you deserve more viewers, it's not meant in comparison to other channels, with unrelated content. Just that many feel you deserve a bigger audience. Well done to Crystal G - the bar remains set high.

Very good story! When my Father passed away, I was sitting outside the funeral home waiting for the director to give him some photo's of my Dad. It was very warm and I had my car door open and was sitting right next to the side door. Twice the door shook as though someone was trying to open it. I got out and checked but could see no one inside. When I told the lady in the office about it, she said there were many nights that if she worked late, she had to call someone to come walk her out. And as we were talking we saw the top of a man's head pass the window. The gentleman in the office got up to see who was there. There was no one there.

When it comes to stories about hauntings, I consider them much more unnerving compared to the others about unfortunate souls. I have anxiety and a deep fear of disembodied voices and ghostly sightings. I've never actually seen a spirit and I bet the day I do I will probably have a heart attack. So far this video scared me the most. The last one that scared me so bad was murder on the crumbles. You're a great story teller, Oddie. Your voice is very fitting for a creepy narrative. Keep up the spectacular work.

I love this story, thank you so much for sharing Crystal G! :) I went to college to be a funeral director and embalmer, graduated and passed the National Boards. Before becoming licensed one must complete an apprenticeship and then pass the state boards; unfortunately apprenticeship opportunities in funeral homes are few and far between. :( Even if a funeral home is hiring they want either part-time staff (an apprentice must be full-time) or someone who's already licensed.

When we moved to FL, I had to take the first sales job I could find to put orthodonture on my daughter. It was selling funerals and graves. I got the job of a man who died and had loved to play pranks on his coworkers. When I'd be alone in the funeral home, the faucets in the ladies room would turn on. This was something he used to do to spook people, except now he was dead. No one else attested to doing that, but all knew about it. I'd go in and turn them off. On again they would go. Left that job as soon as her braces were on!!!

I was associated with a funeral home that was 150 years old. It was a beautiful Victorian mansion. One night I was covering the phones until the mortuary intern arrived. After a half hour of rattling coat hangers, the sound of footsteps in the empty apartment, and worse was the sound of the elevator coming from the basement morgue to the embalming room. An elevator that hadn’t been working for decades. I decided that it was a lovely evening to stay on the porch.I also had the pleasure of seeing a full body apparition on the staircase of the original owner.

This was great! I used to watch a show about a funeral, no not 6 feet under, home in Arizona which talked about embalming. Now when I go to funerals and view the body I think about that show. Hats off to her being an embalmer.

I'm an Aussie currently living in the U.S.A and I love this channel so much! Listening to Oddie's voice makes me feel a little closer to home :)It sounds like the lady in this story is incredibly sensitive to the paranormal. I am too as well as some of my friends. I also lived in New Zealand for many years, as some of you would know, N.Z has many fault lines through it so there are earthquakes and tremors felt in different parts of the country quite often. These quakes seem to have an effect on the paranormal activity there, making itself felt and seen and thus much stronger than usual. I should send Oddie some of my stories!

These stories make perfect sense to me. Every time I visit a funeral home, I feel like I'm catching a glimpse here and there of spirits. Moving on can't be easy if you see your family mourning. While doing my best not to look crazy, I will try to give them some comforting words. During the last funeral I attended, I even righted flowers before headstones. Tiny things can make a difference for the living and, I expect, the dead.

Love it! I must apologize for not being around much. I bought my husband a Roku for Christmas. He's completely fudged up my account. When I do get on, my feed is full of videos he would watch. At least he hasn't figured out how to subscribe, etc... lol A residual haunting is so much better than an intelligent one! My ex BIL, married to my sister for 23 years, is a funeral director and was the county coroner where he lives. He's had many experiences too, and he's said that he avoids movies and novels because he doesn't need those popping into his mind at 2 or 3 in the morning when embalming. Bodies do move and make noise sometimes. (I'd wet my drawers) Excellent video work, Oddie! Truly talented and much appreciated!

Just found your content a few weeks ago… it’s very interesting! I am thankful to hear these tales of as much truth as one can find of this almost forgotten and not always cordial to speak of history with the help of you and your supporters. Originally being from a small town in southern Louisiana, you hear so many stories of ghosts and history. Also being a Respiratory therapist, working long nights in the hospital and with the sick and even death you often think about the possibility of afterlife. Thank you for this amazing channel and all the work you all have put into it.

The lady in the black scarf is residual. If it were an intelligent haunting, she would have appeared all over that place. But her role remained static and her actions didn't deviate from the norm. Perhaps her loss was so great that the walls held onto that traumatic experience. I remember when my Mom passed away, and there were so many mourners at the funeral home who came from all over the country to pay their respects to her, that I had to escape to a lonely grieving room to cry and think. I sometimes wonder if that image stuck around, because losing my Mom was the worst of my fears come true.

The Moonlit Quill I'm so sorry for your loss. Both of my parents are gone, & I miss them terribly. They were the best. But I know they're ok because they are still in their home.
