THE FUNNY SIDE OF ELVIS PRESLEY :D
- PART 2 -
This video contains three dialogues between Elvis and his audience - and also with his band - during the show that he did in College Park, Maryland, on September 28, 1974.
Here you can hear how Elvis liked to have fun on stage. It is still not an official release by the way...
Some websites tell Elvis was on drugs during that evening. It is not my opinion. Indeed, if we except some marihuana taken during the 1950s and only one experience on LSD with Priscilla in the 1960s, Elvis never did drugs in the 1970s. I'd better say that he was under the effect of his medical prescriptions.
Elvis didn't act differently in every show that he did during that September-October 1974 tour. You can hear it in the FTD release "Dragon Heart", recorded on October 1st 1974 in South Bend, Indianna...
I still wonder why some fans still don't accept that Elvis acted sometimes like Jim Morrison or Serge Gainsbourg !
I had the opportunity to meet the TCB Band twice in Paris, in 2002 and 2003. During the second meeting, after the show, I could speak longer with the guys of the crew (James Burton, Jerry Scheff, Ronnie Tutt, Glen D. Hardin & The Imperials). And as I knew James Burton was the only one of them who did all the shows with Elvis, without exception, from 1969 to 1977, I asked him about the College Park concert. At first he said that he didn't remember it. But when I quoted Elvis he answered : "It was the way of Elvis to have fun with the audience".
The first time I met Elvis' musicians it was great and very impressive ! Scotty Moore was there and he played with Jerry Scheff and Glen D. Hardin for the very first time ! When they begun one of the classic songs, they made two false starts. Then Scotty complained to Jerry and Glen : "Look what Elvis and you made with my chords during the Seventies !!!" It was very funny ! :D
After the show, I gave my videocamera to Jerry Scheff and he filmed me in company of Scotty and Glen. And Scotty showed his middle finger to the camera ! :D I Wonder if Elvis wouldn't do the same...
It was great too when I met Sonny West, Myrna Smith from The Sweet Inspirations and Ed Bonja in Berlin, in 2007. Sonny spoke about his life with Elvis, he answered some questions and made some pictures with us. Myrna even took my 3 years old son on her knees for a photo ! They are all very friendly guys, I tell you ! ;)
LONG LIVE ELVIS !
*** As my video was too long for KZfaq (around 12:30), I had to cut it in two parts. But you can see it in its integrality in Dailymotion, in the following link :

I agree with everything Elvis said. And when he says he doesn’t doesn’t do drugs in his eyes he didn’t. Because they were prescribed for him. Still miss him. 😓

I think it's great that elvis was so open in all his moods. He left so many things for us to watch, to listen and to enjoy. I am sure that 100 years from now people still will be arguing about him because he is a mystery.

I like this side of Elvis. It is the masculine, borderline rude, tough, sensual Elvis. It's his realism. It's totally contrary to 99% of the descriptions of Elvis we get from the "experts", and it's refreshing to see this side of him. Thanks for sharing!

Elvis talking about having the best equipment money can buy ,most expensive show on the road, and he don't care cos he wants the people to get THE BEST !!! . Elvis had the best musicians the best singers and this is wat a lot of people don't get and sometimes they may not be aware of, how Elvis felt about his fans , well he cared enough that it made him physically sick (HIS OWN WORDS ) His fans were EVERYTHING to him , he wanted the best sound , he got in the car after each show and asked how the sound was ? !! he worried about his fans he wanted to help any that got hurt in his show even to the point of medical bills if it came to it , that's the way he was , he loved people he lived to give he always gave 100% in everything

Direto do Brazil. (I like Elvis anyway. What he did to the world is more important than your weaknesses. Play King makes me feel good whenever I have problems put a song to hear it and my ghosts seem to disappear. Only one thing to say: LONG LIVE THE KING! Direct from Brazil.)

Elvis didnt really do drugs,Cause back then thats how they did it.But he didnt do street drugs. And if he drink he didnt drink until he passed out. And when he relized he needed help because of how he needed drugs to stay awake and to go asleep .Then he was in debt so much and he said all his people depended on him.But God knows. And he was a Loving ,caring and giving man .I just wished he would of took better care of his health.I just wish his Father, would of made him go to the doctor and hospital and got checked out,and made it a rountin.I ❤ all his Music.I just wished I had went to one of his Concerts.Everyone i know that seen his show ,,Said he was great and always done a great show, and you would never forget it.

They were seldom given as written prescriptions but handed to patients in bottles /some in match boxes, which I had given to me in early 80's. He had Dr.s he trusted and thought it was necessary to perform. But it ruined his health ,ability to sleep, wake up normal hours ect. His heart was always with his family, friends and millions of fans. I was taken on a personal tour of Graceland by one of his gang who had actually distanced himself from the others. I saw the Sundial/Starburst jumpsuit from the front and back, it wasn't pinned. This was the one he wore the most because of the swelling and bloating. The man was 6 ft 2 and it couldn't have been more than a 34,35 waist. He sacrificed eating right he worked too hard to please the fans, and it doesn't matter to them because we know wanting so much of him took it's toll. Thanks Elvis

it's well known that Elvis had a lot of health problems in the 1970's, he had glaucoma, he had a twisted colon, hypertension & an enlarged heart, that's why he took so much medication & the fact that tom parker had him regularly playing 2 even 3 shows a night sometimes during his Vegas runs all added to his poor health. The truth is, by 1977, Elvis was absolutely exhausted from all his concert tours & vegas runs, tom parker worked the guy into an early grave!

So what judges gained mention over and over the fact of gaining weight or the fact of the prescription drugs problems .. Come on guys his body is dead... But really matter is who was in him as a person, artist, etc... Whatever trash you said wouldn't resuscitated him, but even better whatever B.S you said will change his legacy, his name, his impact in music.. Just take a simple look of how many impersonators Elvis have, how many people make a living (some are good never equal, and some mega ridiculous) with Elvis name and music.. The King have more impersonaters than any other artist ever.. Regarding his position in denied his bad habits is not hypocritical is just the fact that no one who have an addiction accept it because behind of any additions exist a very sad spirit... Just enjoy the music, the greatest of his performance, his charisma and beauty... Because let me tell you something never ever in life you'll see such of beautiful human creation.. Oh by the way... Elvis was a human being not a F Robot.. Capese...?

I am an enormous fan of Elvis--but what I can't accept from other Elvis fans is that they say the man is doing okay when he is not! And here he is not! Elvis did two shows at College Park in 1974--Sept. 27 and 28. This is the show from the 28th. I have the audio recording from the show the night before and Elvis is just plain awful! He fell out of the limo when he got there, and when he took the stage he stood in one spot for twenty minutes because he was so messed up! This recording is from the better of the two shows--but it still isn't the true Elvis that we know and love.

I agree...what I heard was a man that was trying to defend himself about things that because of his drug addiction and personal things that were going on in his life! He just should not have done either shows! Why they let him do that show , I will never understand! He was having a real bad day and got up there stoned and did that! He had been getting too careless with his drug usage and other things and it didn't change my mind at all about him! I think it should not have been presented as the funny side of Elvis! I'm actually crying as I type this , because the man was tired and was just like "Fuck it"

No obstante, para quienes lo admiramos por su gran cantidad de presentaciones, grabaciones e imágenes de sus mejores momentos...podemos obviar lo malo. I agree with all of that. I know that the waist measurements were done on the largest part of his waist. The gastrointestinal bloated part. Elvis had mega colon. The normal width of a colon is 2 inches. Mine was enlarged 4 times it's normal size and I would look 9 months pregnant. I could go from a 26 inch waist to a 34 inch waist overnight. There was only one starburst jumpsuit. It was cut extra low for when he was bloated he wore it when he needed to I experience the same thing.

it's a shame he was in such denial about his prescription medication habit's and it sound's as if he were trying to convince himself Whoever think's this is Elvis speaking as a straight man are not aware of drug's and their rffect's or are in denial themselves. He did have a good sense of humor

Ha ha ha ha that is funny coming from you there strungout, practice what you post, you are the one doing the hate thing all over you tube, when I answer your posts I am here to watch Elvis and enjoy his music, all you come here for is to criticize and down someone that others enjoy when they come to the Elvis video's, you are the one with the problem, and I am helping to defend the memory of a legend.

Perscription drugs are in fact drugs. At one point cannabis was legal in america for prescription, oh and cocaine. Drugs are drugs no matter what the FDA labels something that year

I have been an Elvis fan forever and I agree he was a sick man, however, he was also in denial about his drug use

@phyllisfiredwards1 Do you have the bootlegs of the two Dayton concerts ? You are correct Elvis was absolutely super on the two concerts. It's the two earlier shows at College Park and Indiana that he was out of it.
