Would they think he was _one of them....?_ Imagine Sonic having to walk (run) amongst Furries, keeping up the act constantly, hoping they don't realise he's really an anthropomorphic animal - knowing if he's discovered he'll be used as an intense spiked butt plug. It would be a waking nightmare, pretending to be into Fury stuff and not being freaked out, like not showing emotion in Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Like how He-Man in Masters of the Universe got bait-and-swapped for the MC role with another character, or The Last Jedi and/or Rise of Skywalker in its entirety to name a few
