The goal is to find the history of the colonial settlers of New Hampshire and in this video we went further than we have ever gone before. Three miles into the mountains and taking over two hours to hike we found a cellar hole that was from a 1700s home. Following the old rock walls we discovered this lost deserted farm from over 200 years ago. With the Fisher F19 metal detector we started digging up old relics buried in the ground for centuries. Old buttons, thimble, oxen shoes, musket balls and more. If you want to see a real history hunting metal detecting adventure this is the video.

Awesome finds! The button & thimble by/in the chimney stack makes me think of something else I’ve read along the way: I’m picturing a woman colonist, sewing in her rocking chair right by the fire, on a cold winter night. I would think that looking in the immediate area of any chimney stacks, might yield lots of clothing/sewing related items. Great stuff!

I know what that's like, I drive for three hours then it's a four mile hike in some nasty terrain and the sites I find are early to mid 1800's but if you want to find undisturbed ground you have to go that extra mile. Great job guys! Some of those relics were pretty close to being lost forever. Glad to see them brought back for future generations to admire👍🎧✌️

Someone needs to make a movie that starts when you pick a relic out of the ground and fades into the moment the bottom falls off of the garment of the person so many years ago.

How did they re-supply their homestead, how did they find it in the first place. Talk about away from everyone, Was there a town in the area? Too darn remote for most of the folks watching your trek. Too darn far out there. Wow. Our ancestors were sturdy people, which we knew but this is a good re-mind of it. Are you still making notes for your local historical society? Hope they appreciate this one. Best Wishes.

That was a really tough hike gentlemen but worth it! I love the old thimble and it looked in great condition considering it was in amongst the rocks from the chimney stack. I liked the little spoon bowl and you both found plenty of buttons plus the large oxen shoe. That was a fancy shoe buckle Dame and a very old pewter spoon Charlie. Then you had the long hike back to have a drink and something tasty to eat, a great days detecting my friends. Good luck and happy hunting and hiking, God bless you both love and hugs to you 9and NinJen Mary-Ellen LFOD UK

Awesome hunt guys. Glad there was something there for you to find after that long of a trek. That buckle frame was fancy so they must've had a little bit of money. Since you guys have all those water sources out there you could take Sawyer mini or Lifestraw water filters to get your water. It would save you a little weight.

You guys know that it's very likely that some of those colonial sites you're cherry picking has some treasure packed trash pits somewhere close by those cellar holes I've excavated more than one myself from homesteads near where I live and every single site I dug from the early 1800's had multiple trash pits. I found a lot of award medals off whisky bottles and pocket watch parts. Oh and a few coins including Mexican silver dollar and lots of early American silver coinage. We did the same thing when we lived down in swamp in a shack. We'd go out from the house, dig a big open pit and throw our trash in it and burn it till it was full then bury it and dig another close by. Of course I'd imagine those guys in those days had far less than later settlers did but, you never know?
