With almost every young artist prefers Blender over Maya and considering they'll take the role in the future; blender will be integrated in professional pipeline and be industry standard in the future. It's just a matter of time

Modeling in Blender is far better than in Maya. The modifiers workflow is fantastic. Now Geometry Nodes has made the modeling workflow even better. Cycles speed is miles better than V-Ray even with a 4090. V-Ray can be prettier sometimes but Cycles is still evolving.

There are no minimum requirements to use Blender on my PC. But I have been using Blender very smoothly and learning since last eight months. Alhamdulillah very powerful software for low budget PC. I don't actually have an external graphics card. Still, Alhamdulillah, Blander doing well. I don't have F_HD display but it shows better screen than other software. Thank you for creating such a perfect user friendly software, and many thanks to Blender for giving it away for free.

As someone works in the car design field, after about a year switching over to Blender, I wish Blender in the future would add more flexibility to the edge crease adjustment for high poly work flow. To be specific, if there could be controls that let you manipulate the change of mean crease values on an edge between two vertices to make the crease gradually fade out, that will be a game changer to automotive design, currently Blender is on par with Alias Sub-d but not fully blown it away because it still lacks a lot of the precision controls, a lot of automotive designers are still being skeptical about switching over, but it is already the most effective tool to create good visuals I feel.

Great to see Ton's vision! Cannot wait to see Blender provide the plugin points to emerging interaction devices and technologies. There are already a lot of creative tools that let you create in 3D more efficiently, collaboratively. Here are some that I have been using for a couple of years now. While they are not opensource, they are really well designed products. Zoe, FigminXR, Open Brush, Multi Brush, Gravity Sketch, ShapesXR.

I would love AI to just take care of the retopology part in my workflow. Or maybe having AI doing the topology part under the hood when I bevel a corner or doing a boolian operation like in a CAD modeller but still working on a poligon level. AI could theoretically give us the best of both worlds.

* BTW big thanks to Ton for giving us all Blender for free forever ! we are forever grateful for it..* I ditched 3dsMax like a year+ ago after using it for years (about 16 years) because it was too expensive for me to ever make money from it and also it was getting harder and harder to keep getting updated cracked versions of the latest 3dsMax for just learning it as a hobby (it was hard to find it online and its heavy GB size wize and sometimes contains viruses so having a great free 3D program like Blender is so great which also opens up very quickly and its very light compared to 3ds Max..and I can always get updated easily with the latest version of Blender so thanks)

Autodesk probably bought Maya and 3Ds max for visualization. Especially with 3Ds max, many architect bureaus were already using that as their main render and lighting tool. IIRC, parts of the old render engines were also later used in their CAD software.

Huge thanks for the insight. Keep it going guys ✌ About knowing; Send a mail to all users with a link to a website to drop a simple creation. Call it the "Blender World" with a counter that would shows how many users are active. And a simple mail with the info that a new relaese is available will keep the Blender Group on the right track. Dont go the "analytics way". In my opinion, Blender, it's all about the freedom of creation for everybody online and offline. What if there is no internet for a while? One thing is certain, all connected software will become completely useless. Side note: Make Blender Movies more available. There is a way and not everybody wants to be a creator 😉

The few thousand people working for Hollywood mainstream movies? I rather have Blender being targeted towards small teams and individuals and I don't think this mindset of "For Blender to win, all the others have to lose" really leads anywhere... plus the Blender community has been saying "Blender will be industry standard in the next few years" for like 20 years now :D :D Anyways, just my 2 cents.

To squash any competition... buy any successful similar product that could tear you down. Simple business move. Bentley just bought PLS-CADD. I think they are buying other products as well. If Blender had engineering interfaces and common tools, it might be attacked by Autodesk. Seeking to buy it out. However, they'd just kill it in order to make money.
