Gukesh had just lost his 5th round game to S.L. Narayanan, while Vaishali had scored an emphatic victory over Shamsiddin Vokhidov. The clash between Gukesh and Vaishali at the 6th round of the Qatar Masters 2023 promised to be an absolutely epic clash. It was filled with not so common opening, bold middlegame decisions, time pressure and eventually a massive attack. Commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

chess is all about brain planing and tricks and training their bodies for peak performance is key to staying on top of the rigorous mental demands of the game. i guess there's no sexual/gender role in this. but still there's no equal entry and price pool for men. stop gender bias in chess. Impressive performance. Despite her clear dominance throughout the game, the female player had a momentary lapse at the end and unfortunately lost. And let's not forget, women chess players are often far superior.
