One step closer to lights-out book production.
We teamed up with Canon Inc. at Canon EXPO to show what the printing industry might look like in the future. The end-to-end book production system featured two Canon imagePRESS printers (one inline, one nearline), and allowed us to create finished books from blank paper without any human interaction.
System highlights include:
◼ AGV transportation of printed materials from printer directly to finishing line
◼ Robotic arms for automated book feeding
◼ Printers connected inline with finishing systems
◼ Printers, finishing systems, and AGV/robots are managed and triggered by integrated workflow system
