This Triple album brings together the two main strands of FSOL’s current output, namely the “From the Archives” series and the “Environments” albums. Comprising a total 48 tracks, 35 of them are new or previously unreleased:
The Archived section pulls 8 previously released tracks from the series but in some cases new mixes of these tracks have been created specially for this release. The other 9 tracks are unreleased Archive tracks from the vast vaults of FSOL.
FSOL are well known for their prodigious output, regularly going through periods of creating several tracks a day. Many of these tracks would be ‘lost’ only for not fitting current projects, created only for special live events and broadcasts or would change so drastically during the recording process that the original version would bear little resemblance to the released track. From the Archives seeks to give light to these tracks that are as good as anything released on their ‘official’ albums.
Environmental is 16 brand new tracks which continues the journey along the ambient environmental path. As the title suggests, each Environments album is a journey through a specific mood, place or environment.
Views brings together much of the piano work FSOL have done over the years and also includes 2 new cover versions of tracks by Brian Eno and his brother Roger Eno. The piano is mainly played by Grammy Nominated / Ivor Novello Winner DANIEL PEMBERTON - well known for his film score work - (Gold, Steve Jobs, King Arthur). Contains 10 previously unreleased tracks.

I just scored a 3,100 volts DC power supply that actually has a knob that goes up to eleven. I'm 60 and I play heavy distortion guitar to this. Love this stuff. Let there be light. Peace.😸🤓🤟👍😎

kraftwerk started it all. electronic music, well they were influenced by an experimental artist too but, fsol are one of my all time favirate's. a massive influence on my music. Always thought. they were very close to 95/96 drum n bass. if only they had done that. with photek. that would have been an epic venture...

Nobody else holds a candle to what FSOL (Amorphous Androgynous, Polemical, and their other 10 names) have done with their sonic wizardry. Every album is so unique & perfect. I'll never forget the 1st time to listening Dead Cities...and then years later hearing vocals and banjos on The Isness. Now this is like the good ole days! They deserve so much more recognition & appreciation. I killed a man...a man who looked like me.

@@ChrMmn mhm - one piece that really surprised me was Lifeforms (Remixes)... straddled the line between natural ambience the likes of Hiroshi Yoshimura, the trance of Crystal Method's N20 soundtrack, the invigorating depth of Akira Yamaoka all while incorporating the FSOL style. truly eclectic art!

@@ChrMmnHmm I skip the whole isdn dead cities dark era. To some extent life forms as well. I got back with isness in a different way. But I just think this later stuff is more of the same of the better first era so you may not believe it but I actually listen to this era and nothing else.

I've loved them ever since I heard them on Kiss FM in the early 90s when they used samples of the Film Apocalypse now and been hooked ever since. I was so high and put the Radio on by chance and boy what an experience!

FSOL were years ahead of their time, before their time even existed. I mean come the fuck on... this stuff is on an entirely different level. Take for example Mouth Muse... the texture the intuitive recognition playing with your memories, the environment it creates, I want to live in that world. Un fucking real. Does anyone know of similar artists that are approaching things like this today? I know one dude Priori who is really good but is more drill n bass and of course isn't original. Ill pay you to find more stuff like Mouth Muse.

They have their own sound and always have, I don't think there's ever been much out there that's like them. With that said, there are electronic artists out there who are just as innovative in their own ways, I'd definitely suggest checking out Venetian Snares, Craven Faults, Survive, Lorn, Miwon, Clark, Pavane, Radioactive Man, Fluke, Boxcutter, Jega, Vector Lovers, Quantic, Flavien Berger, Vessels... and I could go on and on..
