After all the music of Scotland, After all the videos of it's culture, it's heros and it's place on the globe. I am conviced. Scotland is more than just a country. It is more than just music on the Pipes and drums. It is a Spirit that is born down deep in some of us. It toouches us like no other. That's why it can do so much that modern things cannot. But two years ago, visiting Glasgow, Stirling and the surrounding area, including the Wallace Monument, also in contact with the Scottish people, I felt something different and strong there, hard to explain, which remains an indelible mark in my life and in my heart. Now, when I'm listening to '' Flower of Scotland '' (like at the 6 Nations Rugby Championship), I'm crying with happiness.

Dougie MacLean played at our Folk festival last year, what a gentleman. Given that he has played Carnegie hall several times, he came to our little town in Kent in his camper van and did not ask for much, he was humility himself when I bought him a pint.

Today pipes and drums played in my hometown because it was 75 years ago we were liberated by canadians and polish forces. Gives me gooseumps every time i hear pipes and drums. And i Always shed a tear for all those brave boys who fought for us ad gave their lives for our freedom.

This gives me chills up my spine, and raises the hairs on my arms, my scottish ancestral blood that runs through me, is completely enjoying this.. feelinga and or emotions that I cannot explain thoroughly. Hearing any type of bagpipes and drums is an instant high. I guess thats why i try to make it to so many highland games throughout the United States during the year. Not just because my last name is Wallace, but I am kin to many different scottish surnames other than Wallace.

One of the best pipe bands, if not the best in Scotland! Highland infantry regiments generally take the honors, but “Scotland’s cavalry regiment” has smashed that tradition! “Second to None!” But then again, I’m biased! My dad played in the Royal Scots Greys during the 1957 Edinburgh Tattoo!

so I am part Scottish my grandmother and great grandfather and great grandmother are from Scotland. my calico cat flip's every time I play them she's knocked the phone from my hands pretty much every time it plays. I think it's amazing for a cat whom is scared of her own shadow when the bagpipes play she gets so excited she will come from any where just to be close to my phone. I guess I'm not the only one who loves Scotland to the core of my very existence.
