I remember liking it alot when I saw it. I did have some critiques though. For instance, what if he hadn't jumped off in the right place. If I was him afterwards, I would have been pisses for those kind of chances being taken. I also would've been upset that I was that perfectly predictable.

The ending ruined the movie for me. It would have been perfect if they cut right after he jumped off the building and died. Then they could have played back the old footage of him discovering his father’s suicide when he was a child. The End.

Another good example was when lex luthor obtained the powers of Superman. With the powers of a God he is suddenly able to comprehend things beyond human understanding and he basically has a existential crisis to the point where it breaks his spirit and he admits defeat, something he would never do before.

The thing I like about this movíe despite small holes is the fact the degree of knowledge they had about Nicolás. That's why they knew he would choose to comit suicide when pushed at the límit (as his father) so the lights of the roof (glass one) looks like his only option. They knew exactly everything about him and at the end it was just a Game.

How the hell he missed all those truss joists on the way down through the glass ceiling is beyond lucky. No amount of questions answered is going to predict how he jumps, where the wind might carry him, where he jumps from exactly...if he drifts 10 feet this way or that way...I mean those bay spacings are fairly tight, missed them by what, 10 or 15 feet max? A little contrived for me, but still, a fantastic movie, great acting, editing and direction. Deborah Unger was my high school crush on screen, she was so dynamite in this. Also, not one smartphone in the whole damn movie which reminds me of those times when people would sit down and actually talk to each other, remember post-movie discussions with my friends and family, we'd always talk about the picture and what we took from it. I give it about 2-7 years before Hollywood decides to remake this and ruin everything...again.

The Game is a classic. The movie had a good twist. It was a cruel birthday prank. It was really cruel what they did to Nicholas. He really thought he had killed Conrad.

I think you are entirely missing the point, here. Nicholas had become a lonely shell of a man. Only being somewhat personable with his housekeeper. He completely dismisses his ex-wife when she calls to wish him a happy birthday. He is convinced his brother is a junkie only looking for handouts when they meet. He has lost the meaning of life. The "Game" leads him through a journey where he believes he has lost his wealth; his brother; and his will to live. ONLY AFTER living/walking/breathing this journey can he realize the importance of his real life. That he is loved. That he was taking for granted the things which are important to him.

@boet613 I always thought it was a squib rather than a b-proof vest. If Nicholas shot a blank, then the squibs blow in the champagne bottle, Conrad's chest and back also blow their blood packs in response to him firing. I love this movie too - I think a lot of people were mad there wasn't a head in a box at the end so they dogged this great flick too much.

One thing I've never understood is that some people don't like this ending because "there's no way they could've known where he was going to jump!" These people have controlled his TV, turned off all the lights and made everyone flee in a crowded parking garage, made an elevator break down, knew exactly when he would need a taxi, knew he would go a diner and see a commercial for heart medicine on TV, knew he would take the actor on TV to CRS, knew he would shoot his brother, yet for some reason, him jumping off a building is what people can't believe. I just don't get it man...

Honestly I would have probably jumped too if I had accidently killed my own brother or any other person I loved... it was a logical possibility, knowing that his father has commited suicide and that Nicholas was in a bad period even before that. If he didn't jumped they probably had another plan. The company is shown to be an all mighty organisation, a mastermind of the human psychology, able to predict their client's move, like if people want to complain you can invalidate the whole movie because such a compagny is impossible, and would probably be illegal in the real life. The ending would have been bad if it had changed the message of the whole movie, but here it just sublimize it. Nicholas took everything he had for granted and was frankly arrogant and cold, and it took him to loose everything to realize what he had, and then when everything is given back to him he finally shows love and gratitude for it. That's what the movie is about

Darkest is the idea that they could "control" his physical body without him knowing it. More practical also on the psychological "steering" aspect of his own mind's justification (false positive perceptions). Hence brain mapping. The physical test are only soft reinforcements.

This movie is so unrealistic. Nobody would put someone through something like this as a means of a surprise party. So much could go wrong. What if he decided to shoot himself in the head with the gun rather than jump off the building after thinking he killed his brother? What if he jumped off a different part of the building?

Saša Marković How exactly? They were on the other part of the roof. He was already on the edge. How exactly would they avoid that? This whole movie Is a continuous plot hole. What if he decided to Jump from the other side of the building? What if he didnt manage to return to the US? What if he hadn't asked for christine's address? Why are there bullet holes on the car if they are not real bullets? What if he hadn't shot his brother, understanding that this is the game? What if he bought a real gun, instead of using the one in his house? It seems that CRS is composed by clairvoyants, not actors. So many scenes that could have happened in a different way, resulting in a possible death for someone.
