Bought my setup (quest 3 and app) the day after your last video. Brought it to work (tactical PD team) and 90% of the guys who tried it loved it. Some guys said the subscription was too expensive (cops are cheap), some said they wanted recoil (they don’t dry fire). Three things guys would like: -a holster compatible with the controller -an m4 version of the controller (transition drills, longer range) -range editor (would be cool to create our department qual course)

They need to support the recoil enabled vr rifle and pistol stocks already out there and stop pushing subscription models unless they add something truly valuable like augmented reality in quest 3 that lets you clear your own home or any real space with randomly generated enemies

They've got augmented reality in Q3 and they're waiting on multi-room support for spatial data storage from Meta (Games don't support large areas currently) before adding procedurally generated room clearance. Haptics are a fun gimmick (I've used all of them and own two different versions) but so little to enhance training value outside of immersive scenario based training. And this isn't immersive scenario based training. It's a subscription model and live service for nerds who are serious about shooting performance, not unlike a gym membership, range membership, Peleton subscription etc. It prices out the casual shooter unfortunately, but it's got plenty of value for dudes who are competing, thinking about competing, or eager to really push the limits of their performance with a handgun.

@@ControlledPairsGamingI’d gladly pay the sub price if they applied this to some tactical scenarios, but I understand designing bystanders, victims, combatants is quite difficult, and also making a scenario like an active shooter etc can be ripe with concerns as well as using semi real environments like a super market or parking lot altercation etc. augmented reality in some ways solve the locomotion issues and limitations in VR using your actual environment that has furniture and dead spaces of course. I’m not saying competitive shooting doesn’t translate over but it would be interesting to have targets that shoot back and angles of exposure, threat mitigation, task isolation matters. This would be game changing if they get large scale spatial mapping storage working.

@@michaelnyden8056Totally agree but just not what they're going for. My background is "tactical" and I'm relatively new to competitive shooting. It absolutely made me a better shooter. It's been crazy to see how much better the average "serious" competition shooter is with a gun than most dudes (including me) I've worked with in SOF. There are some AR/MR "tactical" sims out there but most are still on the industry/MIL/LE side. Check out ChimeraXR and OperatorXR.

@@ControlledPairsGaming I think I’ve looked into those and of course they cater to the department/agency/unit gsa acquisition crowd that can pay $20K, which means there really is a gap in the market here that needs to be filled just wish I had the programming talent to do so.

I think we'll see it filled in the next generation of stand alone headsets or if meta seriously ups the amount of spatial data stored onboard Q3. Here's to hoping anyway. FPS enhanced reality is a cool tech demo that shows what's possible but it's got a long way to go. And it's much more game than sim.

I noticed it as well. Unfortunately it's a product of capturing in-headset on Quest. I try to synch it in post but it's never perfect.

@@ControlledPairsGaming yeah, others just get a antlion wireless modmic and then manually synch them (usually they clap before each recording)

Yup. I've gone through a few antlion mod mics and use the clap and other means for synchronization. Works for VO but you still get game de-synch and it becomes frustrating. For narrative "games" it's worth the effort. For short little demos like this it's not as required, and could be a hindrance with the amount of movement noise in the clips. Could have busted out one of my lav mics but didn't find the situation to merit it in this instance.

Im from Australia and ive had my handgun license but just couldnt afford it once COVID hit Its just so expensive you have to pay for the licence, the gun, the club membership, range fees, ammo, training that ACE becomes an actual option for me. After COVID, the club i was with charged $50 AUD every range visit on TOP of ammo, it's just ridiculous.

Hey, I watched your Ground Branch Tactic videos. I learned a lot from them and was able to implement them very well. But I'm having a lot of trouble with one thing that wasn't shown. And that's stairs. How do you clear open stairs with teammates, both up and down ? I would really appreciate a comment and/or a video about it. That would help me a lot. Thank you for your videos, keep up the good work.

At 6:44, was that course of fire supposed to start you in the middle? Or could you go from right to left/left to right? I remember you saying you trained with Joel Park before. Do you think you would have felt comfortable moving from right to left, 1. Smash that outside right edge target, then basically perform a non stop pie for those middle targets I think you're probably proficient enough to 2. Smash the first target w/o a no shoot on the left, 3. transition to the no-shoot on the left (instead of smashing you would have to get proper dot confirmation), 4. transition to the no-shoot on the right (same deal), 5. then smash both the last target in the middle right, 6. then the outside edge left target. Question. Did you notice more tremors with your VR headset than you do with a dot in real life when it comes to ACE?

Traditional dry fire has no simulated recoil either. Understanding how to interpret dot movement during dry fire to diagnose issues with grip and trigger press is an invaluable skill. Haptics are cool but almost useless for dry fire unless they're sufficient to replicate live dot movement, and they don't.

@GreenBlueWalkthrough huh? The ACE grip module is literally a P320 grip with authentic take up, break weight, and reset that weighs near identical to factory striker fired pistols. You don't need to get the sim, man. I'm just confused why you seem so passionately against it. If you won't use it and it's outside your price range, that's totally fair.

Oof. Onward and H3VR for fun, sure. But let's not call it training. $228 is steep for a game. It's pennies for a training sim used by those who are competitive shooters or serious about maximizing performance with a handgun for self defense.

@@ControlledPairsGaming No that's not correct I got DCS for free, Devincy reslove for free, Block bench for free, GoDot for free, Wavemaker studio for free, Office for $9 a month, Aspirate for $15, Microsoft Co-pilot pro for $20 a month, MSFS is $30, Affinity desigener $40 and Steel beast pro for just under $200 with a secerity key... Like who is a sim as deep as H3 better for self defense then Florida blue Gold a $600 insunce plane that pays 99% of my medical bills? Like what does it do? How does it beat all of these soft wears and why can't you buy the accery by it's self? Why doesn't it have recoil or a stock at $200 a year? Where is a kill house/range/tornmet? Like how isn't it a complete joke?

It's 19 bucks a month...about the same as a streaming service, and definitely less than what people pay for live gaming memberships to Xbox and Playstation. Super worth it if it's what you want

How do you mean? If I'm not in ACE I just dry fire with my firearm. I have a GBB airsoft Glock but the recoil isn't sufficient to merit training value for its own sake.
