Similar to when Brett Favre's dad died and he played anyway because his dad would have wanted him to..he threw for like 500 yds and 5 or 6 TDs cant remember exactly but his QB rating was out the roof..

I got a tribute tattoo for Kobe tatted on me (I only got 3 tattoos) for multiple reasons. I grew up watching Kobe and and beings Kobe Bryant fan (I was born in 1997), Kobe gave us joy to watch. Kobe reminds us to have confidence. Kobe as a person was so special to watch, from him being a teenager and meeting his beautiful wife Vanessa, to getting in the NBA draft and being the top 5 leading scorers of all time, to him beings great dad I aim to have one day for my future children and to him supporting women’s basketball and retiring but still has so much love for the game so he coaches his daughter and beautiful young girls and continues to give kids someone to look up to even when he’s not physically here with us anymore. Overall, my tattoo is a reminder of someone great who touches my heart & to always have the mamba mentality to keep going, no excuses, don’t give up and like Kobe said it’s not about the destination that’s special it’s the journey that’s special. My tattoo for Kobe is something I cna forget look at and be reminded of so many things but over be reminded of an irreplaceable human who motivates me and many others to keep going for Heather you sim to achieve and more. We miss you Kobe. Till this day I still cry about you and your babygirl Gigi and the world has Vanessa and your girls back forever. We will take care of them from earth Kobe as you take care of them from heaven, we love and miss you Kobe & Gigi. ❤️💔🙏🏽

I’m 40. I’ve watched basketball since I was 4. Played it through high school. Saw all the greatest of our time live. I was at that game. It was magical. It was like he was playing second grade kids the whole second half. Never seen anything like it. Hands down #2 to ever touch a ball. If you’re my age or close to it, we got to witness greatness numerous times. Argue over who’s best all ya want. Jordan is 1. Can’t say Kobe because Kobe woulda told ya he’s not Kobe without Jordan. And Lebron is 3 all day. Lebron isn’t a Kobe or a Jordan. But he’s a goat. Thing about goats, they are social animals. We should just all let the goats be goats and live in a herd. Enjoy the game for what it is. If ya don’t like my opinion, that’s cool. You’re entitled to your own. Ball for life.

you make a very good point. Raptor defenders were either hacking him to force FTs or guarding him closely to make most of his shots "contested". Sure there were a few defensive lapses, including that "why, sure I'll let you come into our zone and make an easy basket" defensive facepalm early on in the game. This team was trash, they had no choice. Or I should say, Kobe had no choice. Aside from Odom, Chris Mihm and Smush Parker were the only guys who could give you 10 points on a given night, think about it. This is just a fraction of what he was going through back then. There were a lot of games when he literally had to outscore the opposing team on his own for multiple quarters when he was on the floor in order that they could have a chance to win. He wasn't just a teammate, he was the team.

not a lakers fan but this is spot on. it was a shoot-out early on! it's not like when you go watch a break-out recruit playing back in highschool (lebron, zion etc) when they run up 70 points and the final score is 77-9... this was a fairly close game considering. hell, weren't they down by almost 20 at one point? this was a second-half explosion...which makes it even more incredible. 20 points in the last 8-9 minutes of the game. wow

What i love about watching MJ and Kobe play is how simple and automatic their game was. They were like machines, no wasted dribbles, no wasted jabs or pump fakes, no wasted movements. If you don’t contest they’re shooting right over you, if you get too close they’ll drive right passed you for the finish and even if you play perfect defense they’ll still score with the unguardable pull up fade away. And because of that efficient style of play they still had the energy to lock you down on the other end. The two best of all time in my opinion

I remember being in college and playing on a basketball court and hearing that this game just happened and thinking there's no way that can be right. It's just mind blowing. I never thought we'd see anything in the modern era even approach Wilt's scoring record, and here's Kobe's second-half performance being 55. I remember he got seriously injured last time he played the Raptors and this was his first game back against them. So, you know with his mentality that he had been visualizing destroying them and getting his pay back. And that's exactly what happened.
