Shakal and Monolith 2.0 should be in S-tier, but it's nice to see RPK got the recognition it deserves. Overall 545 has some really nice guns

After Tarkov its funny to see a game where 5.45 isnt completely useless

RD74U has one major bonus that I dont see talked about a lot, there is several fire rate upgrades to the point that it can push 1100RPM+. Sure the mag is only 30 but being able to dump 30 HP rounds instantly in high tier mutants is a huge bonus, also you can mag dump a exo stalker with even just FMJ rounds and it will smoke them. Its basically the AEK but with MORE fire rate and less recoil

I found this list wildly inconsistent. What makes a gun S-Tier? I don't think that's elaborated on very much. The AK74 PMC gets S-Tier with the only description of it having a 45 round mag? You cant put a grenade launcher on it either. The 74M, 74 are extremely similar but in different tiers too without much detail.

My first rifle was an AEK before I upgraded to an AK-12, which became my main rifle for most of my midgame. Didn't really dabble much with the upgrade kits, as I found them to be a bit overbuilt. While I like being able to put on scopes and such, all the gizmos and big mags was a bit much. :)

I still quite like the 74M and AKS74U for the looks, just iconic in the series too. I could be having an easier time using the newer super upgraded ones, but the late soviet era stuff just really feels right 😁 Super minor crit, but when you're showing off some weapons, it feels like most of the footage is a scoped in view that could have been from any weapon. I get playing the game semi-decently calls for aimed fire when possible, but if you're getting footage for a gun it might make more sense/make each little section on each gun feel more distinct if we saw more of the gun itself, I feel. Really minor point though. I appreciate your vids 🙂

There's actually 2 AK12's in GAMMA. There's the 2012 prototype version, and the 2016 production version. They're both just listed as AK12 but their descriptions and models are different. IIRC the 2012 version can't take the UBGL. Feel like you heavily slept on the 2016 AK12 too. None of the guns in S tier can take a UBGL other than the Groza Storm. AK12 is a pretty easy to get early game weapon with great sight options and a UBGL.

If I was made to pick one, and only one gun to play this game, like, start to finish, a "one to rule them all" type of gun, my choice would be the upgraded version of the AK-12 Monolith, which is currently called "Monolith's Light". When you weight its pros and cons, you'll find much more pros than cons. Let's start with the cons: - Limited to ACOG, as the optical sight choice. Sadly, at least IMO, the ACOG is the worst magnified optical sight in this game. It's accuracy sux, but being the worst doesn't mean it is unuseable, you just have to deal with it. - The weapon's inherently accuracy isn't also that good. It's not bad, if you compare it with other 5.45x39 guns, to be honest, it is probably one of the best 5.45x39 guns in the game, in terms of accuracy, but it will not be able to hold a candle to most of the 5.56x45 guns. But, as I said before, not being that good doesn't mean it is unuseable, you just have to deal with it. And that's it for cons, IMO. Now to the pros: - Because it's a C tier gun, it is easy and cheap to find, repair and maintain. - The ammo is also easy to find/craft and cheap to buy. - All of it's ammo types are good, not the best, but good. HP ammo is quite good for mutants. FMJ ammo is fairly good for light to medium armored stalkers and the AP ammo is OK to deal with heavily armored targets. - The 60 round magazine is a great thing to have on that "Oh sh*t! I'm f*cked!" moments. Considering how the human Ai in this game reacts to your actions, and how the mutants behave while in combat, not having to reload so often makes a good difference. - It's fire rate is OK, not so fast to make you waste ammo unnecessarily, but also not so slow to make your TTK garbage. - It comes with an integrated grenade launcher, one of the few in the game that let you use the GL + supressor + optical sight and still be able to precisely aim the grenade shot. - It comes with an integrated laser sight. Not all guns in this game have this, and this attachment is something extremely useful to have at your disposal, always, at any given situation. - The gun is fairly lightweight, and it's ammo is also lightweight, which is always a good thing. - The gun looks cool as f*ck!!!!! - I'm a bit uncertain if this can be considered a pro, but the gun's recoil is quite manageable. It's not a smooth ride like the Howa Type 20, but it is also not like a kicking mule (a.k.a L85). See? This gun deserves to be S tier. If there was one with the SpecterDR scope, that babe would be SS tier. Why not the Leupold? Because its accuracy isn't well suited for that magnifaction range.

Always love my RPK16 - especially when I round the corner and a squad of Sin were waiting. Managed to kill them all JUST when I ran out of ammo in the magazine. The 60 rounders shouldn't be underestimated. Good at any range too with the right sights. I have used it over a more powerful gun like ash12 just because I feel like it just works no matter what I am doing. The lack of grenade launcher is sad, but that is what my 5.56 weapons are for. And it also says it has hyperburst but doesn't look like it works as of now.

For me, the Ak74su tactical should have at least the same ranking as the shakal. it basically does the same job as the shakal just on a buget (not needing a 100k upgrade kit) you can mod it to have accuracy on par with the shakal as well as take flatness which would make it better for ranges up to ~100m. it can take some combo scopes (single zoom) with a red dot if you don't like the laser (i like laser more than 45° red dots). my personal goto 5.45x39 are either the Ak74su tactical (as secondary against mutants and close quater engagements with stalkers) or the AN-94 (my personal placement is S tier, if it had better scope selection it would be SS-tier XD), haven't had much chance to play with the 5.45x39 groza, will check it out.

All right, Groza Storm is S tier...I can sleep easily. Nice list. Anything that has adjustable + changeable scope options and a grenade launcher, are instantly higher tier than others.

While having a high powered scope helps a lot, I never could picture using a sniper scope on an Assault Rifle. Much less on a carbine like the 74u. Its just not what its for xd

Imo shakal is amazing go to rifle, good looking to, but it pisses me off, that the kits force me to use one, zoomed scope (not a big fan of angle red dot). Ak74su tactical is pretty fun to mess around with, same as unisg rifles.

Prediction: The Swamp Thing will also go into A-Tier because it forces you to use a sight you personally don’t like.

Adding or docking points for mag capacity is a moot point of you're playing EFP instead, because all 5.56 Soviet mags are interchangeable. This means I can use *60* round magazines with my AK-105, orbetter yet, an AK with a grenade launcher Also can do the same thing with the 7.62 Soviet brother. Having 45 round RPK mags for an AK-Alfa with a variable scope is nutty

Correct me if I'm wrong, AK-47 "Venom" used to be "Beard"? I wish they revert it's sprinting animations to old animations that are on basic AK-74, new ones are awful. Ah, we can't have it all...
