People said that it would fall and that a poorly funded project would leave the nation with a half-finished monument. In the end, it would become an international symbol of the United States.

When you go up in the arch it can be terrifying but once you realize how many others have been there the view is absolutely amazing!

I grew up in East St. Louis and I remember watching the workers put the last piece of the Arch together on television. I also remember going up the Arch and I was blown away by what I could see while visiting the St.Louis Arch. Another thing right under the Arch was the SS Admiral River Boat.

I live 20 miles outside St. Louis and have traveled the entire country with my first husband who was a truck driver. What we did to the Indians was very wrong. Where I live is absolutely beautiful!

Not many knows but the desingn of that is by finnish man who won the contest to design it and that was the chosen design :)

Also my first husband’s relative was one of those men putting in the last piece of the Arch!

Too bad it is in a slum area that if you walk around long enough you'll get a needle in your foot or mugged.

Do you live here because this is totally a lie it is beautiful here and it is no slum maybe you should visit before you dare such things I lived here all my life and I take lots of pictures of the arch. Go across the river maybe you will find those slums!

Sorry guys, but this arch is useless and it is certainly not "an international symbol" lol ... source? My eyes and the views of this and any video on the subject.
