In the show, the flag was referred to as the 'Rebel flag' It was never thought as or used as a symbol of hate or bigotry. The Duke boys were always fighting the "man" and helping folks in need. Rebels when the need arose.

As a black man from the south, let’s just say I have very specific feelings about the confederate flag. Even more over the fact the car is called The General Lee isn’t exactly the greatest thing in the world to me. That being said….if you’re gong to recreate the car, you put the flag on it.

I'm an African American male, and grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard", and The General Lee would not be The General Lee without the Confederate Flag on the roof. I feel political correctness has it's place in some things, but don't screw with The General Lee. 👍

Father is Mexican, Mom is white. I grew up in the MS Delta. Went to a private school where the Mascot is the Rebel. We had Rebel Flags everywhere. It didn't bother me or anyone else. I always that the General Lee was cool and since I'm Mexican I wanted to do a Chevy C-10 truck but paint it green with the Mexican flag on the roof. Call it the Poncho Villa. 😁

Hey guys I'm new and I am also 54 and disabled now so count your lucky stars. I had a fall about an hour ago and landed on my knees and had to get to my bed on my hands and knees and they hurt like hell, so I totally understand. I am an Aussie and understand what the flag represents and hope that it stays in the south where it belongs. Great job.... time to finish watching oh and be gentle on her I love the sassy lol.

However, its history and its nothing wrong with the General Lee. it is what it is. I dont feel any ILL Will when I see it. the people whom are offended by it need to get a life.

That show kept families close. The flag issue stinks. It's not the CSA government flag. The Dixie flag was used by the commoner brigades. They were not fighting to keep slaves. They were afraid their homes would be taken and their generational business would be stolen like the moonshine distilleries going back hundreds of years. More people, in the South were against or never thought of slavery than there were those that did. Same in the North, when you get down to it. Slavery was a greedy business for greedy and ignorant people. It was a business that stretched through time, and all walks of life. It still exists, today, but nobody wants to speak about that as much. My family had a rebel flag under the USA flag. We would help anyone who needed help. We ate meals with good people. Skin color was not an issue for either. My family was even mixed. The rebel flag stood for Family traditions, Southern life, and being wild and free, no matter the colors. We never thought about that and the Dukes of Hazzard certainly taught better than that as well. As we know the victors of a war write the final stories, and we can not be naive enough to think that both sides did not have terrible people around, racist and otherwise.

"I'm gonna joy ride in a customer's car that the customer's waiting on, because my poor choices resulted in losing my driving privileges"...I would never take a car to these people based on that attitude right there...

I am from Philadelphia...originally. My family were there from the Potato famine until I moved to North Carolina, at age 10...in 1980. So I grew up down here, but that was never my flag. I have ancestors who fought on the other side, and I am the kind of guy who will always be who he is. But my friends I grew up with, and their families...all of them...that was THEIR flag. It was very important to them. When the craze against it started, it pissed me off just because it mattered to so many people I cared about. I fail to see how anyone believes they can achieve peace, by means of disrespecting one group of people to please another. Doing that creates the opposite of peace. It just gives everybody something new to be pissed off about.The national attack on that flag was just plain stupid. And here is the kicker. Do you know what they all did when they realized they were going to be harrassed daily over that flag? Well, they simply switched flags. THAT flaf was NOT the flag of the Confederacy. That was the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. It was a military flag that had NOTHING to do with politics. at all. So when they switched, they started flyingthe ACTUAL flag of the Confederacy. And absolutely NONE of the virtue signalling screamers have any CLUE what it is. Now they ARE flying the political flag. So in actuality, if the Confederacy pisses you off...then what they are flying now is FAR worse in your view...and you don't even know it. The state of Georgia had teh stars and bars in the design of their state flag. After a couple of decades of political pressure, they changed it. Do you want to know what the ACTUAL flag of the Confederacy looks like? Well, that is the one that is NOW in the the Georgia State flag. Hehe...and while the old battle flag was just the right side of the Georgia Flag, well now...the Flag of the Confederacy is the ENTIRE flag.All they changed was the addition of their state shield in between the 13 stars for the 13 states of the Confederacy. And all of the morons are happy, because they are historically illiterate.

I am a Black man and I'm telling you as a representative of the Black community the General Lee must have the flag on it or its not the General Lee . Dukes of hazard was and is an iconic show . And those who know the show know the car . I would own and drive the General and enjoy every moment.

Not related to the car, but to the flag. The flag on the car is the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. That is why it is on a car named "General Lee". The flag of the confederacy is completely different.
