THE GENIUS OF KENDRICK LAMAR: 6:16 In LA
Kendrick Lamar has responded with a psychological, poetic, and vicious breakdown of Drakes character with "6:16 In LA", but aside from the rap battle itself, this record is a piece of art. A true demonstration of of the art of rap. Check out my breakdown of 6:16 In LA and let me know what you think in the comments.

The first half of 6:16 is the best rapping we’ve heard all year and it isn’t close. I get emotional hearing his conversation with god because we’ve all been in a predicament where you know you may need to take things to a place where it might contradict who you are at your core. Beautiful verse

I just realized that Kendrick Lamar was using all of his 4 Alter Egos on his 4 Drake Diss Records Kendrick Lamar is a Genius. Kung Fu Kenny Song Euphoria. K-Dot Song 6:16 in LA. Mr Morale Song Meet The Grahams and Kendrick Lamar Song Not Like Us. 🤯👑♊️🎭😇😈❤️💯🎯 TEAM GEMINI for me. 😎

I’d argue that K-dot was not like us And Kendrick Lamar was euphoria. Simply because not like us was a LA bop and he was rapping in that LA style like getting back to his roots. But I can get on board with your view as well

That’s a really interesting take! The only other reference I’ve seen to the different styles Kendrick uses in Euphoria, was from F.D. Signifier, who said the first part was imitating Drake’s style, the second part was imitating J. Cole’s style, and the last part is Kendrick himself

The line about the shooting star means that he only comes around every so often. Comets that pass by earth do so only after many years. Every 10,20 or 30 years and when they do it’s always an “event” to witness. Kendrick is saying him dropping an album is the same way.

Best diss so far was Euphoria!!!! The complexity of the bars, the messages behind and within the music, the fun of it, creativity, REAL lyricism, and straight up smoking Drake’s total character and existence makes it the best. Not to mention he’s calling him to be a better man, that stands for everything!

6:16 in LA not being on DSPs is weird, but it’s been my personal favorite song, even though Euphoria was probably best lyrically, and Not Like Us is a certified banger. But for real, people keep forgetting about 6:16 and I can’t help but think it sounds like a RZA/Wu-Tang song if they were from the West Coast lol

Man Sounwave killed that beat! 6:16 In LA is still my favourite man. I could see that being on an album foreal. I’m thinking the reason it’s not out on DSP’s is probably a sample clearance issue. I can imagine Al Green samples being difficult to clear and/or be pricey!

Good shit. This is really focusing on the art of hip hop and not just the superficial feeling of who’s winning in this moment. There’s more to hip hop than just album sales. If anything, album sales to the masses is the antithesis of hip hop

This is the first video I’ve seen breaking down “6:16 in LA.” I really like what you had to say and your approach to the song within the drama that surrounds it. I realize you probably wanted to get this out while it was still recent (or at least before Drake responded), but I really hoped you would dig some more into the lyrics. There were a few aspects of the song you brought up that I thought you could have talked about more or brought up specific examples of in the lyrics. I hope this doesn’t come across as too harsh. I think the analysis you show is really good and I think you can only go up from here :D
@nusoull
@nusoull 24 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for the feedback! Not harsh at all. It seems some of y’all want more lyrical analysis and I’m all for that. I’m thinking of different ideas for content. I would like to do some breakdowns of some of my fave classic albums. Maybe I’ll do some videos for specific songs like how I did 6:16 In La, and I’ll go more in depth with the lyrics. Thank you for watching the video and giving positive feedback. Definitely more on the way!

He really is though. He took the time off to observe and he sees that under drakes leadership the genre ain’t going nowhere but a dark and toxic place. Kendrick brought back into reality the beauty of Art imitating life and not the other way around. I see Kendrick with God light and Drake as the opposite of that

Interesting observation, but in my opinion big words don’t = better results. Smaller words can pack just as hard a punch Also I just had this thought. If we go with the idea that Kendrick looks down on Drake or thinks he’s immature then maybe he’s using smaller words to make it “easier” for Drake to understand. Maybe this is a stretch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case
