I think the Duke is looking for a heiress, and he will go after Gladys. In the end Turner does not or will not own this Duke.

If it goes similar to the real life of the Vanderbilt, Consuelo indeed married the Duke, not the same Title yet her husband was the Duke of Marlboro "I might not have the exact spelling" But Consuelo marriage was not good at all. Her mother Alva Vanderbilt forced her to marry that Duke.

I hope George would follow through her promise and not force Gladys to marry for just the title. Our power couple could dangle the money to the duke though.. that'll be fun to watch

Despite their flaws, George and Bertha have a loving marriage, a marriage that George wants for his daughter. George has shown that he supports Berths’s ambitions to rise in New York society, but he will surely draw the line if Bertha attempts to force Gladys into a loveless marriage. He might have to spend a long time in his gilded doghouse. Should make for great tv.
