When my daughter was 2, we were watching this movie together. I had made a comment early in the movie that Mia had “Mommy’s hair” (and eyebrows), and my daughter had giggled and laughed because she saw it, too. Later, when Mia turned around after her makeover, my toddler immediately started bawling! She didn’t look like Mia (or me) anymore. Kids can get really rattled about drastic changes like that.

You got that wrong my man. The movie is called "The human centipede". Basic idea of the movie is to reflect on changes in human behaviour when adapting to society. The name "human centipede" is a metaphor of the metamorphosis of the main character. Kind of like a worm metamorphing to a centipede getting more and more feet with each adaptation to society. Actually I was quite surprised, since that's quite deep for a movie that considers itself a lighthearted comedy.

When I was at school a teacher insisted I should have my curly hair blowdryed straight otherwise I would not be allowed to take part in the annual parade. I refused and the headmaster agreed with me. I am proud of my curly hair. It is practical and gorgeous.

Context: so Mia used to be bullied because of her looks and she used to have barely any friends and Mia is the heir of a kingdom so she has to "look" like a princess so they basically gave her a basic Hollywood makeover by just adding makeup, using contacts, and straightening her hair

*this movie (series) is the princess diaries and it’s awful, it really harmed little/young girls with curly hair, braces, glasses (and damaged the hair too)! they even used the hairpiece as a joke! curly hair isn’t a joke you can take off at the end of the day nor should you! It's because at the beginning of the movie she has really frizzy curly hair, which there is nothing wrong with that, but everyone was just like wow look who's trying to fit in. One of my favorite movies, it's called princess diaries

When I was a kid 9-13 I was a nobody in my school, but one day I went home after these mean girls had joined my empty lunch table and started touching my curly hair “complimenting” it in a condescending way, which made me feel bad about my hair texture 😕 so I started straightening it, and wearing makeup. (I started wearing makeup bc other girls were) when I walked into school the next day w my hair straightened and makeup on for the first time, it was like a whole different world, suddenly everyone thought I was “pretty” and wanted to be my friend. This kinda thing really does happen, I went from just some quiet girl to a “pretty” popular girl. It’s crazy… it was just makeup and straight hair like wtf? Btw the makeup was just my eyes and lip gloss lol
