When Chloe Lee’s beloved childhood cat Nicky passed away last year, she didn’t feel ready to say goodbye. Instead, Chloe spent 60 hours preserving Nicky so that she could take pride of place on her mantlepiece. Chloe didn’t stop there - as a qualified taxidermist she’s stuffed everything from rabbits and rats to deer and squirrels. Along with a few ‘friends’, Chloe joins us to explain why stuffing an animal can be the best way to deal with pet bereavement.

Sometimes I do wish I can get one of my pets taxidermy but I know my mom will find it creepy

I want to do that with my childhood cat who’s turning 12 this year and hopefully will love a while longer bc I really love him. My dad said we’ll talk about it later after work. He’s probably a little bit indifferent. 😅

I think it’s worth asking if you really want to because you really only get one chance with a particular animal I’d think. I think maybe you should try to explain your thought process! ❤

I know one of our cats named whiskers he is probably about 16 to 17 years old so in a way I don't know how much longer he can live but I know he still looks pretty healthy

Taxidermy is an art-form in its own right... I can understand wanting to keep a pet with you forever. But I strongly am against making or getting taxidermied pets.
