The Glienicke Bridge connects Berlin and Potsdam.
As the Berlin city border lies in the middle of the bridge, the bridge was closed during the Cold War.
This video will tell you more about the history of the bridge, the spy exchanges and a spectacular escape.
As main source I used the book "Glienicker Brücke - Ausufernde Geschichten" by Thomas Bless.
The author has a website in English: www.glienicke-bridge.com/index...
Not far from the bridge you can find (and visit):
- Babelsberg Park (www.spsg.de/en/palaces-garden...)
- Cecilienhof Palace (www.spsg.de/en/palaces-garden...)
- Potsdam (www.potsdam-sanssouci.com/en/...)
