I really enjoyed that. I've always loved globes and it's great that this guy makes them into works of art. I would really like a longer video about how he makes these and the technical aspects of it as well. Good Job!

This is astonishing, so glad this craft has not died out. Very inspirational as a PD to see the strive in perfection, was thinking about writing a personal manifesto onto a globe.

As an location audio guy / slash shooter with 20 years experience , you clearly have some talented connections as this is fantastically shot and a very polished promo, Such a bugger you are so far away in the UK , I am New Zealand based these days and would love one of your Globes with Covid not a chance of coming back to the UK for many years . I am now waiting for the promo shoot where you present your next venture into making an Armillary Sphere or Celestial Globe that is a fantastic teaching aid, and heirloom for my 8yr old son. That is technically useful for calculating my Southern night sky to within a tenth of a degree when setting up my telescope. K

Thanks Kris, glad you like what we are doing. We do not do any promos, just sharing films that different documentary makers have asked to shoot in our studio over the years. Cabnine Films shot this for their own use which is of course great for us as well to show our studio. We make globes and ship them worldwide, we have many globes in NZ. Each globe is made bespoke to order and the process is over email / phone with visuals along the way to help, so no need to be in the UK. You will find Celestial Globes & much more info on our website www.bellerbyandco.com, any questions just shoot us an email.

+Truth Monger. Haha yes.. always a problem. Each globe represents the time it was commissioned.. i think people appreciate the world is ever-changing. It hasn't been a problem yet as we edit the cartography before we start each!

Hi, Is there anyway I can have the globe made of 100% solid wood, with a 100% hand painted graphics onto the wood. Does not have to look modern, I'm going for late 18th century style. Thank you so much for your time.

What happened to blue water? Are they made to match the living room? Kind of drab. But nice.

I'm not aware of any modern globe maker that guarantees the lines of longitude line up all the way around the equator. This is one benchmark of quality I don't think even Bellerby would guarantee. Nothing more annoying to me when a globe maker is incapable of line up a line. Old world craftsmanship is hard to come by.
@Globemakers5 жыл бұрын
Of course we guarantee that! If you can't match up lines you should not be making globes :)

vivek anand beacause it takes tones of time and people don't have time and passion for that. These people have what others don't
