Another k-drama I would recommend would be "Moving". It's a superhero genre show so it's right up you guys' alley!

If you watch the behind the scenes of The Glory during the stressful scenes, you would really applaud them for bringing the characters into life. Even though the scene is already cut, the woman who plays Yeon Jin had to crawl in the corner and continuously cry and also Deong Eun, the fire scene in the apartment had to be filmed twice and the writer said that even Deong Eun joked that she's afraid she won't be able to pull the same emotion twice on two separate occasions and that there was so much mental stress on her part to execute the scene with the mom. Also Ms. Kang's cry dragged on even though the director said "Cut". I imagine the mental and emotional toll it took for them to execute their roles well so huge respect to the actors really.

Eric's smile through this whole episode was just chef's kiss. I love how this is kinda a love story in disguise. Just lovely. Also the dad was just the coolest. Sure he married a crazy person but still.

Really hope we get a reaction to 'My Name' one day, phenomenal underrated K-drama

The pain in my soul when dong eun was on that ledge it really killed me. She was so traumatized that she couldnt even die until she got her revenge. But going to sohees grave and saying they can live again and seeing her heal just makes my heart glow, i mean if she can heal after all that maybe i can overcome my shit too.

an additional sidenote to family being the one that would hurt you the most: yeonjin's mom said not to associate with people with O's in their names. in korean, the letter is actually ieung (ㅇ). her mom's name is hong yeong-ae (홍영애). that's 5 ㅇ's. moon dong-eun (문동은) has 2. ha do-young (하도용) has 3. choi hye-jeong (최혜정) has 2. lee sa-ra (이사라) has 1. son myeong-o (손명오) has 2. jeon jae-jun (전재준) was the only one without an ㅇ. truly a match made in hell lol

Definitely recommend the Kdrama called Moving!

That means the serial killer Kang is serving for life. No one messes with a death-row convict in prison that they can be extremely dangerous because they got nothing to lose. The old lady Dong-Eun met at the temple was a loan shark. Very powerful one. She has thugs as her bodyguards and she sent some of them to Cheongsong prison to beat up Kang so that he can be transferred to another prison. Myoung-O, Hyeon-nam's husband, Young-Jun [the cop], Jai-Jun, all male perpetrators are dead while female ones are in jail or got permanent damage. My recommendation for K-drama is My Mister. One pick drama for life.

Moving would be a great, entertaining next step-- recency of release, humans w/powers premise, production quality, and if you do a search, you'll find it has good traction and viewership among other channels, Kdrama focused and not!

That scene at the river between Dongeun and the Landlady never fails to make me cry

a few that i would reccommend are "it's ok to not be ok", "strong girl do bong soon"(not the sequel currently airing on netflix), and "vincenzo"(another great revenge type drama)

Itaewon Class is a great revenge K-Drama if you're interested in a relatively similar genre to The Glory.

I'm gonna jump on the recommendation train like a lot of this comment section : Beyond Evil : Two cops hunting for a serial killer but they both suspect that the other one might not be completely honest with their intentions, maybe even involved in the crime itself? Set in a small town in which everyone seems to know everyone and decades old secrets still lay buried waiting to be found. ( Extremely well written and grounded ) This show also won Best Drama, Best Screenplay and Best actor at the 2021 (57th) BaekSang Arts Awards which is a huge award show in South Korea. They awarded the main actress in The Glory ( Song Hye-kyo ) the best actress award this year. I really enjoyed seeing you all watch this drama and I hope we the viewers get to enjoy it soon again.

If you still feel the need for revenge then I definitely recommend Vincenzo ;) Other examples of great Korean shows: Goblin, The Good Bad Mother, Dr Romantic, Business Proposal. All different, all great. And frankly, many others to be added to the list.

A real tear jerker of a kdrama is Move to Heaven. I think the stories told throughout the show are amazing though and it's a 10/10 show for me.

Mr sunshine kdrama is a fictional storyline set in true historical events that happened during japan's colonization of Korea. America also played a role in these events and I think it would be interesting for you guys as americans to see as well. Other recommendations on here I also enjoyed are 'Moving', 'Revenant' and 'kingdom' 👌

According to Wikipedia, Korea does have a death row, but nobody has been executed since 1997. Also, I think their appeals process allows for reduction of sentence from death to life or 20 years or something.

I think the point of what the Dad is sorta fair. He knows how much real dad is an asshole and he would do about anything to get his daughter back. Which could be exetremely dangerous in the long run, and that no matter what he won't stop. Like anything could happen, he could show up here and there, take him to court, try to get fake dad kill, he could show up again years later, like anything could happen really. So it would be safer, if he doesn't get caught to just take him out now to protect his daughter, which I respect. As for the Doctor thing, that's kind of a B. Like he doesn't really have to out right kill him, or scare him with the fear of death of paranoia. I feel as a Doctor you would know like, "hmmmm, if I give him this medicine, pills, or prescription. This could give him diarrheas' for a weeks, or maybe this to trigger some nausea." Like the endless amount of creative torture option is real.

I don’t think they’re planning on killing the guy, he’s already sentenced to death so they’re probably making his life the worst existence possible until the date which probably isn’t far away

I dont think they originally wanted Jeon Jae-Jun to die as part of their plan until he confirmed to Dr. Joo that the child in So-Hee was his meaning he r-worded her. That's why Dr. Joo says something like "Son Myeong-O isn't the only A-hole that needs to die" (i dont remember the quote exactly). They had originally assumed the father was Myeong-O cuz he SA'd Moon

I actually DO have some Korean recommendations: - **All of Us Are Dead** (12 episodes) - a zombie show. it's an ensemble cast, but the main characters are high schoolers. - **The Worst of Evil** (12 episodes) - a crime drama about an undercover cop infiltrating a drug trafficking system. - **Mask Girl** (7 episodes) - another crime drama but from the pov of the "criminal" + explores themes on korean beauty standards. All of these have insane moments with good acting. I think you guys would like them.

I recommend never upsetting someone who works in any area of construction, land acquisition, etc. It's what we learned from the Italian mafia. I loved our Doctor's last speech to the serial killer. I recommend ya'll watch "Sweet Home" now. There's 3 seasons to occur from the webtoon...but the first season sets the stage. It's awesome for the amount of money and time they had. But the emotional story is deep.

Watching this with you all was so much fun 🤩 I hope you want to watch more kdramas

Overall, I enjoyed this show a lot. But I have 2 issues with the finale. First, I don't think Park's punishment was harsh enough. So she got sent to jail for double murder - but in reality, she DID actually murder one person and almost killed another. Her punishment doesn't seem equal or even close to all the torture she did to Moon. Because what she did was not just simple bullying, it's pure torture. I expected much harsher punishment to Park by the end. But maybe the show is trying to show that Moon just isn't as evil and doesn't have it in her to take it that far. Second issue, I didn't like seeing Ha Do-Yeong killing Jae-Jun. I think Jae-Jun's punishment of going blind was perfect since he always turned a blind eye to Moon's torture when they were kids. I wish Ha would be one character who stayed completely pure without murderous intentions. Anyway, they're not major issues that ruin the episode for me or anything. Just minor differences I have with the writer. If you guys want to check out more K-Dramas, I would like to recommend "Extraordinary Attorney Woo". It's another highly rated K-Drama available on Netflix. It's a uplifting and heartwarming comedy legal drama. Very different tone compared to The Glory. It's more like "Ted Lasso" in tone with a bit more focus on drama. I think it's very well written and the main character is super cute - you guys will love her for sure.

Thanks for the reaction. And South Korea has not carried out executions since the early 2000s on the grounds that the death penalty is inhumane. If you understand this, it will be easier to understand the drama.
