Yes. It really happened in the Korean local city named Cheongju. Funny thing is Cheongju is the city famous for education in Korea.

It seriously made me nauseous, when I found out it was based on a real case..🥺 I saw an interview with the victim it was based on & damn, it made me cry & want to give her a hug. 😭🫂 She was brave enough to show one of her scars.. ❤️

This first episode opened so many scars that took me years to heal. I couldn't watch the first episode in a single sitting. I just started watching this series days ago but I'm now in episode 6. I'm glad things are getting lighter but jucier. I don't usually like Kdrama, but I really like this series so far.

I was bullied from the first day of school I was aged five this show hit hard people think this doesn’t happen it does and it happened the cuts the bruises heal eventually the mental trauma never does you never forget your helpless thirty years on a mother I still cant bare to see any of my bullies there was four of them they were twelve and thirteen I was five people say it doesn’t happen I watched this show and I hope she gets her revenge maybe a little bit for me to I’m Irish and until the day I die I will never forget and never forgive them my body is scared my soul is strong gods hand is slow but steady

The fact that this show is based on a real case...a girl was burned with an curling iron and her bullies pretended to be her friends in order to be able to keep abusing her without people knowing. The victim ended up in the hospital

드라마 보고 한국의 대부분의 학교가 저럴것이다라고 생각하는 외국인들이 많더라구요 진짜 극단적인 상황을 흥미롭게 드라마에 담은것 뿐인데 .. 😅 물론 소수의 경우로 저런 학교 폭력이 발생하기도 합니다 학교 폭력이 발생하지 않도록 예방 해야 하겠지만 쉬운 문제는 아니네요

응 맞죠! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 사실 드라마가 드라마니까 100% 믿으면 안돼지만 뭔가...문제?? 학교 폭력 문제가 잘 묘사된 것 같아요~ 당연히 모든 한국의 대부분의 학교가 저럴것이 아니고 요새는 특별히 아니네요~ 그런데 주제가 중요하고 사회적 논평도 좋다고 생각을 해요 ㅎㅎ 봐주셔서 너무 감사합니다!

근데 우리도 영화 드라마로 미국애들은 맨날 마약하고 총쏘고 하는줄 아니까 쌤쌤이죠 뭐 씁쓸한건 고데기등의 학폭은 뉴스에나 나올 극단적사례이지만 오히려 저걸 바로 잡아줘야할 담임의 방관이나 폭력은 흔한일이었다는게 참...

더 글로리에 나온 학교폭력사례는 과거에 있었던 여러개의 최악의 피해사례들을 참고해서 문동은이라는 한명의 인물에 다 몰아준거에요.ㅋㅋ 근데 일부 외국인친구들이 진짜다 다 저런줄 알더라고요ㅋㅋ 요즘한국학교는 욕만해도 언어폭력이니 뭐니해서 퇴학당하거나 문제되는경우도많아서 선생님이나 학생도 상당히 조심하고요. 요즘 실제로는 폭력보다는 보이지 않는 따돌림이나 왕따가 뉴스에 더많이나와요.

They made the drama as realistic as possible according to the writer even the incident about the curling iron happened in Korea as they say.

As for Korean, I've been pretty heavily out of practice recently, but I just try and use it in every day situations whenever I can, like talking to myself or studying vocab as that's like the thing I lack the most. I learned it in university too so that was my foundation, but I mostly self study now!

there's one or two infamous cases of severe bullying and sexual assault on a student in korea. while it does happen, i do believe these extreme cases are rare. doesn't make me less angry for the victims tho.

그런게 가능한 시대가 있었죠. 학교에서 다정한 어른을 기대하는게 어려웠던 때가...사회에서도 마찬가지였지만요. 그런 어른들 뿐이라도 그 그늘이 필요해서 학교를 떠나지 못하는 아이들이 대부분이었는데 더 빨리 어른이 돼서 스스로를 지키는 선택을 하셨었네요. 많이 힘드셨을건데 지금은 평안한 일상이시길.

If you are doing something bad and the victim or their family is still alive, you got a really big problem for your own future. Yes, you are fine right now but things will change because of time. Even if the victim's family didn't care about it. the victim cares about it. Some of them will forget about it and move forward. Some of them can't forget about it and seek revenge. If you are alone, you are dangerous because you have nothing to lose. You can do anything that you want. If you have everything, a family, money, etc. You will have fear. Fear of losing everything. :)

I got more shocked that I heard the hair iron thing is from real story. Bully from a jr. high in Korea. They hurt the same spot multiple times so the wounds could not get healed. Terrible. 🤬

The fact that these were based on true incidents. Much of it was even toned down for audiences. SK education system is already a horror story and bullying makes it hell

더 글로리도 재밋는 작품이긴한데 작년 한국에서 나온 ott 드라마중에 top of top 을 꼽으라면 weak hero class 1, bullying에 관한 드라마는 D.P. > weak hero > the glory 이렇게 생각하는 한국사람도 꽤 많아요 ㅎ D.P. , weak hero 는 정말 정말 추천, 대단한 드라마죠.
