I think maybe for the safety of the public you guys should probably not teach people how to build this until you come up with a better version with a proper frame I respect your creativity but let's think about others who will not be as mindful but still want to get their hands on something like this we both know there are idiots out here who will hurt themselves and yes I understand that is directly not your fault and they are responsible for their actions but please release it when you have a better proper structure

Thanks for the video! It is great to get this perspective. I have had the honor to ride a few times now with the Goblin and it is a beast and such a striking e-scooter. Hopefully once we ride again I can take some high speed chasing shots with my quadcopter. I only had my 5" quadcopter on this past ride so I wanted to keep a safe distance from folks. It was also crazy windy. However, I just finished a more people friendly chase quad with prop guards so I can fly through the crowd really low without fear of injury. Looking forward to the upcoming projects.

@@AlienRides Sadly I am not aware of a big enough open space. I had a hard time finding a place where I could run my 100MPH remote control car as it needs a lot of distance. Lack of road space is a big reason I love racequads as you can just go all out in the air :) I remember in one of your videos you were in a big open parking lot. I think you had a Lambo running around in there. Where was that shot?

Thank You for letting me know about this requested build video. It's good to know you listen to your viewers and give us what we want. For me, the keywords were QS Motor, and Sabvoton Motor Controller. Since I started building custom scooters in 1999 I'm officially old school, but I have made some incredible things along the way. I started building dual motor (BMC MAC 600's) Currie Scooters then Dual Motor (800 Watt X 2) Rad2Go scooters, then it got crazy with E-tec Motor and Alltrax controller on full custom chassis scooters. Mostly intended for blistering acceleration and wheelies. By this time I started ScooterFaster LLC in Phoenix and shortly after that the Phoenix City Council banned all scooters. ScooterFaster took a turn when I bought a bunch of Panterra electric scooter parts at auction in California. Business was good, but the "Vespa style" motorcycle scooter never gave me the riding thrill of a stand-up scooter. ScooterFaster closed in 2011, but I still have plenty of parts to make a nice stand up but they are still illegal here. I would love to visit your store some day and meet all the famous builders from the SF area. The new scooters blow me away, the dualtron has way more top speed than I can believe they sell to the public, crazy! Thanks again.

@@AlienRides Thank you so much for that, and when the air is clear (Re: Covid19) I can assure you I'll come visit. While I used to have pallet's of 20 Ahr SLA batteries in stock, I'll need a battery sponsor to have anywhere near the range you guys like to run. Short of that, I could have a couple scooters up and running in no time. Or, maybe I could just build something that didn't need a 400 Amp controller cranked up to the max. lol

Hi Alien Rides. Last week I mentioned I was inspired by the Goblin build and I went ahead and worked on my busted No Brand scooter that's a mix between Uberscoot and Evo. After replacing all 15 Mosfets on the control board, it blew up when energized. LOL..So, I went ahead and cut all the wires, which was something I did Not want to do, and installed a spare control board. Well, Voila..the damned this started working after watching a plethora of videos on KZfaq and finally got it Right after a whole Friggin year. Now I can do my weekly beer runs, man. I subscribed and having a blast watching you have crazy azz fun. Cheers, man. Eugene

@@AlienRides From your personal experience why do riders not take advantage of the seat for extra comfort? Is it because due to balancing issues? or is it less practical ?!
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Moe Hadla I think the seat is definitely more comfortable, but in most cases impacts folding. I think the benefit is not worth the effort for people to attach and detach the seat when needing to fold their scooters, to take it on a bus or car or whatever. That’s just a guess though.

Wow Randy is the man! I have 1 quick suggestion for him which should be easy for him to improve that thing: get rid of them G clamps in the middle of that thing! Replace them with a steel plate held in place with two 10mm bolts which you can quickly remove when you need to by using a battery drill with socket attachment. Them G clamps sticking up like that are dangerous! And doesn’t look cool either. Other than that one thing, I love this machine! What a BEAST!

update on the bajaboard project. i went back over my 10s12p battery and realized i made a wiring error on the BMS, i fixed the wire connection and location for power and now everything works, so far. with all the new extra cables and i cant use the stock deck lid because all the extra wires and cables wont allow it. so now im planing on building my own custom deck lid and hollowing out the insides to make room for all the extra cables and BMS. THEN i can finally take it for a test ride. im always happy to see more custom build interviews like this in depth just to pick at the owners mind to see what solutions they came up with for various problems

Great vid! When I first caught a glimpse of the Goblin in a group ride clip, I thought WTF is that?!! I suspected it was a custom fabricated machine, so it was great to have Randy explain about it. I'm guessing he works in IT as I did? Not many people would just grab server power cables. The big power connectors are usually used for electric Fork Lifts and other high current applications, so certainly up to the task. I suspect there's a similar audio background there too as Randy just happened to have an amplifier case handy! I love this sort of mechanical creativity and did similar stuff when I was racing a 250cc water-cooled, 2 stroke grass kart. Fitted a programable ignition system and designed a flat shift gear lever. Would rip through gears at full throttle with front wheels in the air! Just got into scooters 6 months ago and about to upgrade my WideWheel dual to a Mantis Duo after watching so many reviews on this channel. Cheers heaps for this one!

Just follow the heat to find your weakest link the resistance is translated as heat and weather your motor can't run as hard as you demand and gets hottest or the controller is being overworked and it is hottest and any spots in your wiring that have resistance in line will heat up at that point and if it is too hot put a better wire, connector, or component until the whole system runs without overheating until you are really doing something you shouldn't like full throttle up hill 1 motor and after 2 miles your full throttle and half speed thats never gonna be good. Turn on all your motors and controllers and splitt the load between the motors and try and just use half your amps and run up the hill at like 1500whatts be smart and you wont have to overbuild too much. Awesome build though man I have 2 scooters but nothing like this so please know I mean respect for your adventure man

Wow man, what an awesome build! 40% Jank, 60% Insanity. The perfect combination man, your build is unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere else man, be proud knowing you inspired me to go even further the first time I saw it! Your angle for rake is the only one that I’ve seen that makes any shred of sense. Well done getting that steering geometry dialed in like that! The trailer build is amazing too man, now you’ve got a hybrid system! Electrically powered and refuelled by petrol/diesel/gas. What’s the reasoning for the larger voltage pack in the trailer vs the Goblin itself? Running sneaky series? 😈 Wow man, a QS motor aye, not too bad at all and 190ft-lb is no joke, sounds about on par with some of spinningmagnets builds. The thermal density must be such a lifesaver on that motor, I bet you could double your voltage before you start seeing any kinds of issues with it! Genuinely impressed with the build and I’m super keen to follow along the way! Surprised you only went with a 150amp capable sabvoton for that motor, surely it wants the 600amp ones? Thanks for this video guys, the Goblin has been plaguing my dreams lately 😂
