▸ Who is The Incredible Hulk: The Hulk is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Following his accidental exposure to gamma rays while saving the life of Rick Jones during the detonation of an experimental bomb, Bruce Banner is physically transformed into The Incredible Hulk when subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will. This transformation often leads to destructive rampages and to conflicts that complicate Banner's civilian life. The Hulk's level of strength is normally conveyed as proportionate to his level of anger. Commonly portrayed as a raging savage, the Hulk has been represented with other alter egos, from a mindless, destructive force (War Hulk), to a brilliant warrior (Worldbreaker Hulk), a self-hating protector (the Devil/Immortal), a genius scientist in his own right (Doc Green), and a gangster (Joe Fixit).
Despite both Hulk and Banner's desire for solitude, the character has a large supporting cast. This includes Banner's ex-wife Betty Ross, his best friend Rick Jones, his cousin She-Hulk, and therapist and ally Doc Samson. In addition, the Hulk alter ego has many key supporting characters, like his co-founders of the superhero team the Avengers, his queen Caiera, fellow warriors Korg and Miek, and sons Skaar and Hiro-Kala. However, his uncontrollable power has brought him into conflict with his fellow heroes and others. Despite this, he tries his best to do what's right while battling villains such as the Leader, the Abomination, the Absorbing Man and more.

In a lot of ways this story may not be the most like “super awesome bad ass crazy” as much so as it’s beautiful. He can be gods destruction incarnate, but he still feels. Sometimes all hulk really needed to hear was “hulk, I’m sorry you hurt so much inside, you are good. You are loved. We will all do better” and that’s it. The sentiment of that and the idea of that is such a beautiful concept in and of itself. Hulk is a child. A step above a toddler but not a kid. He is that 5 year old that knows right from wrong but has the hardest time controlling their lashing out. Hugs and kind feelings always quell a sad angry confused and hurt child. This is an amazing story.

Can not tell you how much this channel helped me through honestly the darkest times of my life so far. Had a slew of people close to me die in quick succession. Couldn't sleep, listened to these videos and started having sleep again. This might sound dramatic but God bless Rob, this channel might have saved my life.

Great summation of Ewing/Bennett's magnificent run on The Immortal Hulk. I feel this run went deeper into Banner's trauma-induced Dissociative Identity Disorder and his resulting personalities than any other, and ended with a beautiful and redemptive resolution. He chose forgiveness instead of destruction, a lesson for us all as human beings.

I usually love the full story videos, they help me out when I'm just doing some desk work. But this one feels really disjointed. There feels like there's alot missing. One sec the Bruce persona is taken out and joe is in control of the body. The next Bruce is starting a revolution. We have Rob talking about "if you remeber last time we talked about this second in command character" wait Rob I've been listening to you for an hour and a half and I have no idea who this is.

Hulk will not let banner die. This is well established in comics already. You can’t shoot Bruce and expect him to be dead. The hulk will take over in the merest moment before death and heal banner. They’ve literally done this in comics already

I was reading the series as it was coming out, and once it finished and I'd reached the last page, I sat in silence and just pondered at how that was easily one of the best runs I'd ever read. The art alone, my god the art. Phenomenal.

It seems that the Hulk only really gets the outstanding story telling he deserves once every 15 to 20 years. Most writers don't know how to tap the insane potential that's there, and they're not passionate about exploring the depths of, in my opinion, the most emotionally potent and powerful superhero in all of comics. I honestly think there is no one who can create more catharsis in story telling than the Hulk, when used well. Look at the first Avengers movie, yeah everyone gets a good portion of screentime, but ask people what the most memorable scenes are, and it's almost universally either the Hulk or talking about the Hulk. Banner scaring Black Widow to death, Hulk vs Thor, Banner telling Cap that he's always angry, and Hulk smashing Loki. And that's just one movie. None of those scenes would have hit as hard if people didn't know the one golden rule of the Hulk. Out of anyone in all of comics, including Superman, Galactus, Darkseid, and all the other Uber powerful characters, there is exactly one you absolutely do not f*ck with. The Hulk. The only other 2 people in fiction with this much buildup attached that I can think of are Godzilla and the Undertaker. They're all very similar, now that I think about it lol This comic captures this better than any, crossovers or his own run, since World War Hulk. I'm so happy it's as good as it is.

After watching this makes me think of how cool endgame could have been if Banner had absorbed the gamma from snapping the infinity gauntlet, and was wracked with power, writhing in pain, then the missiles hit burying him under the rubble. Then after Thanos kicked everyone else's butts,.he burst out of the rubble jacked as fk and started pummeling Thanos into oblivion, then starts pummeling everyone causing Dr strange to portal him away. Then back to the showdown between a battered Thanos and Tony resulting in the original ending of Tony snapping.

Ang Lee's hulk would fit perfectly into this run. When I re watched ang Lee's hulk the dad is given this sinister aura. It's not only the dark nature of an abusive father but now you have this demonic undertone. The hulk dogs totally look like something that could've been in this run. The constant flashbacks of the door and being afraid of the door. It plays like a horror movie. Then when the father turns into absorbing man I now see that as the one below all being the one possessing his father all along. To torment Hulk by using the person who tormented Bruce.

1:27:08 the main thing that I wish that Al Ewing had more time and more One Way to do with his immortal hulk series, was to build up this partnership between the evil hulk and evil submariner, and have that sort of attack happen with devil hulk versus the avengers part two versus Joe Fixit Hulk that we got. Don’t get me wrong, I would’ve love to see both happened, but not to the exclusion of each other. Marvel had a missed opportunity to really go deep into that story where the devil hulk has his character really built up through banner, running shadow base and doing more than just take down Roxxon Oil. Even if it all happened off camera, it would’ve been great to see the hulk with this sort of access to shadow base take out a whole slew of protagonist and antagonist to build up the stakes across the comic book universe, if nothing else to leave on yourself, plot, threats dangling. Unfortunately, we got this artificial mandate to end the series at issue 50. Marvel quickly pretend this series didn’t even happen and we have this forgettable astronaut hulk no one cares about.

I had just finished reading Immortal Hulk a few months back. I see there's a new Hulk run going. I think "Awesome I want to see where things go from Immortal Hulk". And instead I witnessed all of Banner's character developement get slam dunked into the garbage within the first couple of pages.
