So we are back with some more Conquerors blade as this time we visit the prefecture archers, a unit that I don't think I've played since before Conqueror's blade started doing seasons! But with the current Season 3 cap in place it seemed like the perfect opportunity to test out the unit :-)

One of the things i live most about this prefectures is their unit tracking on arrow rain. It helps a lot when shooting down outriders and anything that moves a lot.

I really like the incediary archers at this moment, with the lower tires they stack up a big amount of kills.

i had a game where My Prefecture archers got almost 200 kills and 2 heroes they are so good btw. i run split vet line with them

People who complain about range don't know how to play ranged well. They think they are helping when they just throw away infantry units but they get no kills. This is a game of trades. You trade green for blue, blue for purple, purple for gold or 1 for 2, etc. If you get kills you'll get territory. Take advantageous trades. Attack weak units out of position from defensible positions with backup if possible. Ranged are essential units not because they get lots of kills. They do. But they also soften the enemy up so that your infantry can get more kills too. A smart infantry unit player would do well to partner with a ranged player. The more support infantry units give to archers the more support they can give to infantry. It's only when archers aren't being protected by the team that they are vulnerable and have to play cautiously. Also, there are positions on the map where archers are the best units to play. Often, this is the final base. I find archers are more effective at the final base because they receive more team support when everyone isn't split up all over the map. Then they become much more effective.

People who complain about range don't know how to play ranged well. that's a nice joke..... any good team with melee only will beat any combo with ranged in them. NOT counting in cav ofcourse.

@@bachneri Ridiculous. If you try fielding a team of all infantry against a team that combines ranged and infantry you will be thrashed. Ranged works in the game for the same reason that it works in real life. If your enemy can hit you and you can't hit them then you lose.

@@thomasfells7557 You can keep on believing that. This isn't real life this is a numbers/tactics game. And a GOOD! and i mean GOOOOOD team will always beat anything you throw at it because they know how to push as one with all melee and anything will get deleted. Including the ranged units. I'm not talking random siege groups but people in teams and discord who play together and know what they are doing.

@@bachneri Did you not watch the video above? He got over one hundred kills with a single blue archer unit. You're just shifting the goal posts. A good player with a good team can play whatever units they want. What's important is team work and skill, far more than the unit. You can play whatever infantry gold unit you want and it can be decimated immediately if you're a bad team playing against a good one. If you know how to play ranged they can be as good as infantry.

Woah that brings back memories of when this unit mattered in day-to-day gameplay. The unit seals are the best things that ever happened to this stale and ill-balanced game. The second T4 and T5 enter the field it's a shit show, but in its core the game is actually really good.

I agree, this seal system is awesome and I think its actually going to improve higher tier play. Since the units available now are relative barebones, people are (re)learning how units work fundamentally and I think its going to lead to more engaging gold tier fights. Like for instance we'll probably see less reaper death balls and more proper flanks. (Cuz death balls aren't enough to win in low tier)

@@lambchopsmtl I pick all the upgrades of the arrow rain in the botton and then all top. You can deal over 1400 agaisnt modaos with the arrow rain active (without crits)

@@lambchopsmtl both rate of fire upgrades from bottom and top is also very good by the ways in basically with arrow rain with the 50% ammo doctrine you can do 3 volleys with massive damage

Nice vid! I think the cause why players spam archers is because of the matchmaking... If theres a lvl 50 player with a half green half blue build he doesnt have a chance if i bring meta t5 units- flamers for ex. His whole warband gets burnt up in the first 7 minutes, so he just brings archers which makes the team not be able to push. I think the devs should work more on matchmaking.

I learned long ago if I decide to bring more than 1 archer unit if I don't get at least 40-50 kills with each squad, I failed, I refuse to be that blueberry who sits next to his archers as they kill 1 unit every 2 minutes

best veterancy line i believe is bot until fire rate and then rest top to get other fire rate node.

I can kill Gold tier units with this archers, BUT in veterancy go top 60% (stop in range 6%) and bot 40%.

I have been seeing WAY too many archer/ranged units on attacking warbands this season. So many battles that go to the last main base objective end up stuck on stairs or chokepoints and cannot push through. It is actually infuriating. I'm not saying ranged doesn't have a place on attack, i think on certain maps, certain objectives they are amazing attacking. But bringing too many as a warband or as a team overall can be absolutely devastating to the ability to push. When i bring them i play aggro with them to provide close range damage support to whoever is being a CHAD and leading the charge. BE A GIGA CHAD LIKE EVO, CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM!

I'm a new player playing poleaxe, I saw your old video guide on it however I've tried max health and max armour and I still feel just as squishy as if I chuck all my skill points into str just without good damage?

But in the all blue meta, pref archers are better at killing units, especially other archers because of the attack speed. Namkhans, as said in the intro, are better at higher tier games, not the current all blue meta. So the situation applies here.
