True...She really screwed up when she picked her. She was trying to make a statement by choosing the lowest ranking person in the Phoenix clan but Wu Huan hid her dark heart. Yuemi knew that Wu Huan wasn't suited to serve Shanggu that's why she suggested that Shanggu replaces her. Yuemi saw firsthand how Wu Huan acted when Shanggu was away. She saw how the power changed her. It's why she wasn't happy when she heard that Shanggu was returning. She didn't want to give up her power.

@@shontelagrone8713 idk i think wu huan was an okay beast until she overheard yuemi and other characters that she was going to be replaced by QOP when she finished nirvana. little did wu huan know, Shanggu was never going to replace her with QOP because QOP never carried on nirvana and she lived happily with her lover until wu huan was manipulated into doing the horrible things she did. after killing yuemi and QOP she had to deal with her crimes but commiting more crimes . wanting to be the best isnt wrong but she was manipulated by Snow Goddess to "prove" that she deserves her place as Shanggu's side.

@@OnikaTrishul Wu Huan showed her true colors long before she overheard Yuemi telling Shanggu to replace her. Yuemi saw exactly the type of person Wu Huan was becoming in Shanggu's absence that's why she told her that she needed to be replaced...and she wasn't wrong about her. When Shangg went to the Netherworld that's when Wu Huan started to change or should I say that's when her true character started to emerge. She pretended to be all meek and humble...not knowing how to manage Pilgram Hall...until Muguang gave her some advice....she pretended to follow his advice...and it went down hill from there....her attitude drastically changed because she got a little taste of power... something she's always craved...and she didn't want to give it up....that's why she was greatly disappointed when she heard the news that Shanggu was returning. The Snow goddess played on her insecurities because she understood how she was feeling...because they were both jealous and feeling inferior...the snow goddess was feeing inferior to Shanggu...and she thought that Bai Jue would fall for her delusional ass once Shanggu sacrificed herself. Wu Huan felt inferior to everyone because of her lowly status. Once she killed Yuemi all bets were off...because she gave into her darkest instincts...she started doing horrific things...right under Muguang's nose. He finally admitted to himself that Wu Huan's been evil since the moment ske killed Yuemi...and all her fake remorse was just an act. It was all about keeping her status that's why she killed the Pheonix Queen.

I think Bai Jue was swayed by jealousy.

@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 it was about ranking. As the chief god he wanted her to have a beast that had the best ranking and cultivation...and in his eyes that was Muguang...plus his status was also higher than Gu Jun. He was a little tick off that Shanggu compared Gu Jun to him...lol

@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 it was implied in the speech that listed Muguang's qualifications....all the true gods assumed she would choose Muguang after they listed his qualifications....because she already chose a low ranking phoenix. He didn't utter a single word during the selection process because he assumed that she would make Muguang her disciple...it wasn't until she chose Gu Jun...he let out a little grunt and voiced his disapproval. You're right it's not up to him that's why Tianqi chimed in. Shanggu made the right decision when she chose Gu Jun. Muguang was a huge disappointment.

Beside that, when did you graduate in Ancient Love Poetry godly etiquette? Bai Jue spoke out of turn, so much so that (for the first time in his life, I guess) he could only utter two words before he stopped and didn't even know how to go on, even TIANQI reminded him he should shut up. So he should shut up. But then again, Xu Kai is a very hot guy with amazing acting skills, so his character can do no wrong in your book, can he?

Yes, he did. He was a big disappointment for the rest of the true gods too. They left him in charge and he nearly destroyed the entire realm by covering for Wu Huan. He even had the audacity to try to take the blame for her. His self punishment wasn't enough for his penance.

She didn't even get to live long enough to see him fail, thanks to his wife. Though, the biggest disappointment of them all was Wu Huan, and that was Shanggu's own choice. The difference, I suppose, is that she chose Wu Huan for sympathy, but she chose Gu Jun for character.

it was gu jun and wu huan at first. then wu huan married muguang. during their wedding gu jun brought an egg (houchi) as his child to be acknowledged as goddess. near the end gu jun said that wu huan is not the mother of houchi and he's not the father either.

@@lylee1529 because from my point of view, Wu Huan had a crush on Gu Jun (on their training days). But Gu Jun didn't notice her because he knows Mu Guang likes her. Just finding anyone who is like me who shipped Gu Jun and Wu Huan at first hihihi

Her acting blows all of the actresses you named out of the water though. Her emotional scenes later on in the drama are 👌. I guess maybe her acting makes her attractive to me, she looks quite pretty.

Zhong Dongyu did a wonderful job. She was emotive when needed to be and had great restraint when needed. Her acting prowess has always been great. Sun Li would've been a great choice for this too
