I haven't bought any of the new unit studies yet, but you were right about how the older units came loose and you had to put everything together yourself. It took a lot of time. I plan on getting a few of the new ones here soon. I will be getting the Maturation unit for sure and maybe the Geology unit and one other. We did the Space unit and I have the Marine Life unit and the old Safety unit too. I like adding a couple of books with them, so I will either get the book packs or use my own. I also do the LA course with my son and the Handwriting.

I am eyeing the maturation unit as well since my daughter will be 11 later this year. I think I am going to add some books and activities from the Guest Hollow Anatomy Unit to extend our human body study. I just like books and lots of hands on Activities but, the Good and Beautiful Units are great.

We love TGTB!!! I love the causal approach to science as my older daughter does Rigorous science due to doing a pre med course!!! We did a video geology course that we didn’t know was geology and it was better than expected!!! I buy any TGTB curriculum independently not as sets!!! I’ve looked at the safety course online but I didn’t know if it’s suitable for older kids!!! We loved the health and the physical body unit!!! The extensions were intense and my 12 year daughter did them and my 12 year old son didn’t!!!

So far they have been a lot of fun. We started the geology unit last week. The safety unit is best suited for younger kids. It would be great if there was something available for older kids as they grow to remind us to keep having those conversations. I just saw an article about another dangerous tiktok challenge which gave me a heads up to keep talking about these things specifically. I'm also interested in the maturation unit since my daughter is 10 going on 11. It's time to dig into to some converstions that can be challenging.
