I was surprised that Venus’s hybrid form surprised you so much. Saturn has been in his hybrid form for most of his time on Egghead and only recently went full demon. Aside from the facial differences, his eyes, ears, and posture… he clearly has arms in his hybrid form that turn into spider legs when he goes full demon. One other thing I expected every reactor to note (and many probably did but I haven’t seen it yet) is that the Luffy/Jupiter/Giants scene is a callback to Little Garden. Luffy was playing around on a brontosaurus-like dinosaur, got swallowed, and got saved by one of the giants decapitating the dinosaur, which allowed Luffy to pop back out, exactly like with the sand worm here, except now it’s both giants together :)

I remember over a decade ago (before Imus existence was revealed), I always assumed V Nusjuro was the alpha of the Gorosei. He's the only one who doesn't wear a formal clothing (aka suit), and the only one brandishing a sword. He is also the oldest looking, and the earliest hint that they could actually fight, thanks to the sword. He is also seemingly modelled after Emperor Hirohito of Japan, a fearsome leader in his own right - so it is only fitting that he has the most eerie devil fruit. Ju Peter actually somewhat remind me of the Graboids from "Tremors". Though they (or the Shai Hulud from Dune) aren't exactly 'mythical zoans' as such since they are both pop culture figuers, and all of the others clearly are based on mythical creatures - so I am thinking that his Devil Fruit might be based off "The Mongolian Death Worm

I think the Gorosei are less of devil fruit users and more of actual demons because they seem to have a connection and it isn’t “user of the Snake-Snake no mi: Model Sand Wyrm.” It’s just “saint Ju.peter, San Wyrm.” Like calling a demon a demon.

If anyone noticed they aren’t in their awakenings they’re deity fruits like luffy and Yamato they have the hagoromo clouds around them and are able to go full animal and hybrid while still having them awakened forms are strictly hybrid forms even the out of control ones and we see luffy has the hagoromo in g4 which I believe is an application of his zoom form and haki strain + muscle balloon technique and then Yamato has it in her full form and hybrid form

for reference the Four horseman have colours, he is the pale/white horse of conquest(pestilents)/death. Which pale Often represented as a skeletion cause.

I think 5 elders are the manifestation of Imu's powers(opposite of freedom like trapping nightmares in Goroseis body) thus the regeneration power cause the main body is of Imu and he is controlling Gorosei to a certain extent

my problem with the whole devil in fruits, 'theory', is that 1. there's literally no proof other then that one thing shanks said that one time, every single piece of evidence for it is purely speculation or stretching heavily what had happened before, which means at I said, there is no evidence. 2. Vegapunk literally says that devil fruits are made from the desires of people. 3. There is absolutely no precedent for demons existing at all, this sort of this would need build up much earlier on to happen, which there hasn't been.

The undead horse (Bakotsu) seems to be "hakkotsu no uma", the spirit of a horse that burned to death. And the boar (Houki) seems to refer to a monstrous boar from chinese folklore. Also, Yamatos full beast form also had that cloud scarf, so the big page spread might just be showing them in their full transformed state. Raises the question though why Saturn goes from hybrid to full state.

I have an idea of a devil fruit. The Empa Empa or Po Po fruit. It's a zoan type fruit. (Empanada, the goddess of pandas, or Po from Kung Fu Panda.) This fruit gives you the power to become a panda. The halfway form would be a panda head human body. When you're in the half panda form, bamboo sticks are just as sharp as a katana and strong as emeralds. (The bamboo sticks can be used as a weapon as well)You can climb easier. The downside is you're very tempted to eat the bamboo sticks, you get very tired easily, and you get background character syndrome.

a bit late to this but, just a quick thought: while ju peter is called a "sandworm", what if he is actually the Mongolian Death worm; would better fit alongside the other cryptid based gorosei than if it was based mostly on dune's Shai-hulud.

For more info on a Hoki, it's also known as Fengxi. Probably the more common name and will yield better results. Here's the abridged version: two headed boar known for terrorizing the countryside, slain by the archer Hou Yi, and the Hoki/Fengxi is sometimes considered a rain deity. That's from Wikipedia, anyway.

ju peter is inspired by a mongolian mythical sand worm, so any supernatural abilities he'll have will probably be based on that myth. as for the hoki, "hoki" is the japanese pronounciation of the original chinese name of the creature, which i personally don't know, but i guess that could help. as for the skeleton horse it seems that it's a very underrepresented yokai that is only found in one book about yokai, it's meant to be a horse skeleton ghost born of the soul of a horse that burned to death
