For those in need of ideas on transgression in Frankenstein, think about the scientist (Victor) as the overreacher. Mary Shelley and her friends thought scientists regarded people only as "vermicelli in a jar". Science represented a threat and a Taboo for the Romantics. hav u finished it? share it with us plz..
@cappujhino Жыл бұрын
@@soumiatulip I have in fact finished it but it was a paper on the use of gothic elements in Bloodborne, which I also wrote in German, so I'm pretty sure it would be extremely unhelpful to most. ^ ^` If anyone happens to be interested in that specific topic though, SolePorpoise has two video essays covering it on his channel as well called OTH: How Bloodborne Transforms the Myth and OTH: Bloodborne vs. Gothic Horror - Reanimating a Genre

So, here it is: kzfaq.info/sun/PLgExZbYMlAA4pq-peM1VhmR10gfpBtEZN&si=KU4po4m5d0CoxqN_ ❤❤❤. Cheers! P.S. I'll be releasing fresh videos all through this year and there's material on the Gothic 😊

Completely insightful. The division is in the human psyche, a wellspring of Gothic content.
@uncanny3333 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Thank you for your smart answer. From the psychological perspectives of literary analysis a lot can be explained and understood about Gothic as springing from the Id (Freudian), or The Shadow (Jungian). I share the link of a brief video I made on that. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qrqZoMKiyb-sXYE.html

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
