Chris, Mike & John - thank you guys for even just posting a video/videos like this. As a “young” (31 year old) vintage-loving collector, this is the kind of stuff I dream of doing, being able to afford, or even witnessing in person. Special thank you to the original owner & his dad for building this collection and preserving these cards as well. Idk why, but I love it even more that so many of the cards were never graded. Cheers guys.

Absolutely over the moon for you all! Some of the best people in the hobby, bar none! Really appreciate you giving us a run-down not just of the process in acquiring, but of giving us all an insight into what's in the collection, what you paid for it, and no doubt giving us future updates on how you all go with sales. So transparent, and so informative! Mike: Is there enough cream in it to get your grail card you've always wanted - the '52 Mantle? Wouldn't that be something! WAY TO GO, LADS! Really please for all of you!

All those 1930s comma cards there and John Keating has gravitated toward the fun stuff that would excite me - the early 1970s scratch-offs.

For the first time in my years as a collector...I am jealous. A damn good group to pull this off. I hope to have the resources when I retire to get into this ballpark...or at least think about it...but until then many congratulation!!! You three are top grade....and Keating looks much younger here than he does on the regular shows!!!

Congrats on the find of a lifetime Mike! Very happy for you and Chris. I am sure Keating took his finders fee. I have never been so inspired by a collection and equally depressed knowing I will probably never get there. I hope one day to find a tenth of that collection and I will sit around drinking whiskey and taking it all in. Congrats again!

I had a deal like this almost two years ago. I bought them for a more than a fair deal. After careful consideration and realizing the potential, I actually gave the person an extra $1,250. I don't like to be greedy but when people undervalue their collection, it should be accounted for.. by the buyer. There is some Great stuff in there!!

Crazy! Why would the seller settle for 10% of the value?
@werejusthumanscolorisntreal3 ай бұрын
My guess is that people who actually spend this kind of money on sports cards are incredibly far and few between. To get numbers at 100% value when selling that many cards and such quality cards, that’s just not possible. That’s how bulk buying in any industry goes. Also, to get 50-90% of comps on every single card would require a lot of “nickel and diming” every single card almost individually to get those prices.
@jmikefitness3 ай бұрын
@@werejusthumanscolorisntreal 12 cards paid for the cost of the collection. If the person knew to graded some of the cards why not put them on eBay? This collection isn’t that hard to sell off.
