Hello from Bonnie Scotland.... Being stuck inside these Carona days I'm finding myself travel vlogging around KZfaq and getting sentimental about how easy it used to be to visit different places..... It got me wondering if you have seen an increase in views of you vlogs during these last few months......?????

Heh - don't be too harsh on London for sunshine - you did come in January ! Shortest days of the year and typically grey and boring skies. Come in June and it's light (like full daylight) until 10:30 at night and sunny all the time. Truth is, London suits the rain. Green and pleasant land....

@TheGooners11 Cultures change with time. Do you think the English in the 1700 have anything in common with the English in 1960 let alone 2019 English. Culture never stays the same. Whatever you're trying to preserve it's not even recognisable to its original state. You are set in your ways and I see no sign of openness for us to have a discussion. I sincerely wish you all the best.

Exceptional filming, made my eyes well-up. And you're absolutely right about the grey dreary skies of winter. We become very despondent and yearn for a bit of sunshine after months of gloom. At the first sign of any warmth, there we are in our baggy shorts (men), skimpy frocks (women), and flip-flops.......oh, and right, butter goes on first, then jam, then maybe clotted cream on a scone.

As somebody who used to live and work in London I would be cautious about saying that it is grey. I once went to Copenhagen in early February and there was only one colour - grey. It made London look multicoloured and Copenhagen isn't that much further North.

Londoner 44 years.. And it's true about the Sun.. One of the main reason of the love and hate relationship. To me London is very drab during winter.. It's a big cold grey place. If you come back to the UK you should visit places in the countryside.. and definitely during summer! I think you'd really enjoy it :)

Glad you had a lovely time. Ref grey skies. You need to be mindful that you came in winter. What most people do not realise is how far north London is. If you go directly west from London and keep going, the place you’d hit landfall is Newfoundland in Canada. The UK is so far north that in some places in Scotland, they can see the northern lights at night.

It's not too much rain that makes England so green, it's the dependable seasonal rain throughout the year that does this. Just when everything is getting a bit too brown and tawdry for comfort, we get a deluge! Anyways, again, great work. Keep it up! And yeah, Soho at night is way better than by daylight.

One thing you can do in London that you probably can't do in many other city in the world, is go to an interesting lecture at one of the many scientific societies, universities and museums every single night of the week. It's not very photogenic (well the inside of some the buildings is very Hogwarts), but it is a part of London that tourists don't explore and it is worth exploring. You can also do overnight sleepovers in the British Museum, and Natural History Museum.

You really have shown London in an amazing light. If you are ever back in the UK, head to the North of England. Liverpool is a beautiful city as is Leeds and for the countryside you should check out the Lake District which is absolutely beautiful. Also the North of England is very different to London and much more friendlier.

London isn't especially rainy(about 23 inches annually),but unlike many places with a higher yearly rainfall, it does not fall seasonally, and can (and usually does) occur in moderate spells in every month. Grey skies are more truly characteristic.

I actually smiled and chuckled as you discussed what you thought... not kidding... you really are good company lol. Knowing all the places you visited made this extra special. I lived near Hampstead and visited the heath for walks on long hot Summer days, of course everyone goes through Oxford Street and the side areas, and Liverpool Street Station used to take me home when I lived in the burbs. Nice to catch a shot of "Dirty Dicks Pub" (12:06), I had to take a picture to prove to an American friend that it really existed :)

That view you enjoyed from 04:49 demonstrates one of the notorious 'viewing corridors' that stretch across the city to its 6 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 6 palaces and 5 cathedrals, notaby the line to the dome of St Pauls that bans highrises across vast swathes of the capital. One viewpoint laid waste to 4 planned skyscrapers when an old man hacked away a bush to restore a 300 year od view from Richmond Hill. This is why the city bunches its skyscrapers into dense nodes, often with buildings hiding behind one another's shadow in corridors (or levels them into 'groundscrapers'), despite having the same population and business might as NYC.

I coach people and do freelance photo/video/design (codyjensen.com), I also do freelance production jobs around the city. Sarah works part-time and does freelance writing. We also sell Merch, get paid from sponsors, and affiliate links. We easily work more than full-time hours, just not all on/at the same thing/place. We are currently in a “start-up” season of working way more than we get paid for in the hopes of future profit. We’ll see how it goes 🤷🏻‍♂️

JCA is right - it's Westerham Heights not far from Biggin Hill Airfield one of the best known airfields from the Battle of Britain and Down House (in Downe) the home of Charles Darwin. Not far to the south is Westerham (reasonably enough) and Quebec House where General Wolfe of Quebec fame lived as well as Chartwell home of Winston Churchill though those are just outside Bromley Borough and thus Greater London.
