What a brilliant man, we should have read his essays in high school when we were going out into the world. Im finally diving into the classics and the great books in my fifties, I read a lot recently by Mortimer Adler another brilliant man.

Agreed! I've read a bit of Adler myself. He and Hutchins were close. IMHO Hutchins is the better prose stylist, but Adler was more prodigious in his output. Happy to hear that you are on the great books train! Cheers.
