@sammykewlguy2 жыл бұрын
@Logia SD so the original script was released. It would seem that Dorothy was supposed to laugh first right after her cannon line. Then Rose talks about they shot him into a tree, which makes Blanch and Dorothy laugh. Rue and Bea laugh much earlier than the script had called for, leading me to believe they probably weren’t acting. It’s possible they had the giggles in anticipation of the story they knew was coming. In the end, it simply works and the blurred lines between fantasy and reality only helps the scene (and the show as a whole).

Watching Betty White just tear Rue and Bea up with uncontrollable laughter is AMAZING. These were actors and comedians with DECADES of practical experience under their belts, and Betty's wide eyed innocence act, combined with her absolutely brilliant improv skills are just going through them like a bowling ball through pins. "Um, Rose..." *GIGGLE THAT WOULD NOT BE DENIED* "...have they ever shot a herring out of a cannon?" *Pursed lips to prevent barking laughter mid-scene* /Cue amazing comedic timing/ "Only once." Bea Arthur actually did like Betty White, there were just some thing's that Betty did that would just irk Bea sometimes. Like for instance; Betty had a habit of engaging and talking to the audience if they flubbed a scene and Betty would then sometimes interact with the audience. Then she'd notice Bea would roll her eyes. There was a documentary they made for Betty on ET that Betty White explains this all herself!

Conway was a genius, and the Siamese elephants bit is great. But I think the second half of the dentist sketch is even better: the part where he keeps injecting himself with novocaine. All of that was improvised. Conway and Korman had a running bet. If one of them made the other crack up during the show, the laugher had to pay $1 to the other guy. Korman broke up so often that liked to say that he had put Conway's kids through college, one dollar at a time.

magdalena wyrobek Betty White said that the Writers usually kept the content of the St.Oloff stories hush hush till the sit down readings, now at times they would add or delete some content. In this segment, I can swear Bea Arthur broke Character as did Rue. This is probably the most memorable, i think the "Founders Day Parade" was funny to, with her Father pulling the Mayonaise Jar Float! "The Amazing Shapiro" St. Oloff's OBMAG(Obstetrician Magician), "She's a Gercominockun", Rose about Blanche: "Its the precise moment when Dog Doo turns white." "Mean Old Lady Hickenlooper" Rose finds out that Old Lady Hickenlooper was not mean, she was just born without "Smiling Muscles", so she told Old Lady Hickenlooper that a Frown is just a Smile turned upside down! So, from that point on, every time she saw Rose, Old Lady Hickenlooper stood on her head, and waved to the kids. And of course, St.Oloff's only Black Blacksmith, the Town welcomed him by wearing Sheets and singing songs!
