Migrations of the Open Ocean.
Migrations are a key to survival in the marine ecosystem. From whales and turtles to sardines, by travelling to different locations, nektonic animals stand better chances of finding food or a suitable place to breed and raise their young. In this video, we’ll take a look at the migrations of nektonic organisms - animals that are able to actively swim and can undertake large-scale journeys around the world, covering larger distances than plankton and their predators.

Fantastic video as usual, I'm absolutely delighted hearing that the jet streams are actually used by animals to get around faster and that it wasn't just something shown in Nemo

It’s mind blowing! But yes, Nemo got a lot right, definitely did their research.

@@NaturalWorldFacts The scene with Crush and the other turtles in the jet stream was really cool. And the fact that the creators of "Finding Nemo did show factual info in their animated film is a real plus for kids to actually learn about the sea in an enjoyable manner. I was in my 50s when "Finding Nemo came out and I enjoyed it greatly. I am so glad you have this channel so I can learn more about the sea. Thank you for uploading!

the video is beautifully made as always, the content well researched and engaging, it’s clear you’re passionate about the subject. but most impressively to me: you’ve fostered a community on youtube with practically 0 toxicity in the comments. kudos. THAT is something that’s not easy to do.

I used to love watching documentaries on the ocean as a kid, I was gonna go into marine biology but probably lookin at paleontology instead, thank you for producing content that I truly love watching. I’ve always seen these as mini documentaries. When I tell people what I watch on KZfaq I always love to say that I watch very informative videos about my interests, I’m so thankful that you make these and love doing it, keep up the great work man

I just read your "about" description of your channel. 2012 was a while ago. Are you a full fledged ocean biologist now? How long have you studied to get your degree? Also, I have been getting mixed messages about the Great Hammerhead Shark's numbers. Are they finally making a comeback? It would be sad to lose such a beautiful creature.

This video is amazing I would just like to give you 2 suggestions. Slightly lower the reverb, it is great there is just a little to much. Make the music slightly quieter or calmer at the start of the nektonic section it was slightly too intense.
