Another fun fact: Basil was named after Basil Rathbone who was famous for playing Sherlock in the 1939 series.

Guys. Best part is def when James and Chelsea are laughing at 9:33. They're completely in sync: no audible laughter, forward together, back together. They even move there hands the same way after as if they're giving Skardarasy a high-five or something. That's true love guys. We've found it.

Someone else may have commented this but the reason moving objects look different is because they animated in layers on clear plastic! There was a background layer, a middle layer that had some movement, and the top layer where most of the changes occurred. That way they could reuse animations! Even cooler is that because the plastic altered the color slightly there were three versions of each color for the different layers so that they looked the same in the final shot. That's also why sometimes an object will look off color in one frame of a show - the animator used the wrong version of the color and the layering messed it up. One of the He-Man animators explained this at a comic con I went to. Yay fun facts! Keep it up these videos are amazing!!

The fact that so many people don't know this nowadays really astounds me. I've even had people say to me "you have to redraw every single frame" as if that's not something that should be *obvious* to anyone who understands how 2D animation works.

Snape and Regulus were death eaters for a bit, though. Sure, they turned back around in the end, but still. Slughorn was probably the least evil Slytherin we met in the main series

There´s Phineas Black, Draco Malfoy (He was a prick, but he wasn´t truly evil.), Narcissa Malfoy (She only cared about Draco, and let Harry live på lying to Voldemort.), Andromeda Tonks and ALBUS POTTER. So there are evil in every Hogwarts house. I mean Peter was in gryffindor, but he was among Voldemorts favourites.

Hey, take it easy on this movie!! This is a great movie! Vincent Price was an amazing actor for Professor Ratigan, and Vincent himself said he loved playing as the villain. And that bit about so called "nonsense science" at 6:50 and "just colors" at 7:00? That's called Chemistry, and detectives use chemistry all the time to track the bad guys.

Sleeping Beauty is a freakin masterpiece. While the Great Mouse Detective is, by comparison, a rather small movie, I still find it very enjoyable and a bit underrated. I just think Basil and Ratigan are a great characters. Could you explain what it is about the Great Mouse Detective that makes you HATE it? Just curious. While there are several Disney animated movies I that I don't care for (especially in the 80s and 2000s), the only two I truly despise (that are not direct to video sequels) are Chicken Little and Home on the Range.

Great video! Fun Fact (tangential to 6:30ish): the guy who discovered oxygen mostly did so by suffocating mice in sealed glass containers. At one point his notes were like "And then mouse died, supporting my theory about air or possibly just freezing to death, because it's very cold in here."

This is the only episode of Drunk Disney I legit did not like. I was actually looking forward to hearing what they would say about The Great Mouse Detective and it just turns out they shit all over it. This is actually the only time I heard people say this movie sucks. It's heart breaking. At least there are other episodes I can enjoy.

This might be the funniest Drunk Disney you guys have ever done! I was cracking up the whole time! I loved "But...movie theaters" "...yeah". And of course Dave is Goofy! I vote for Sleeping Beauty!
