Well Andy you perfectly described the whole experience of the GnR. The greatest experience of my running life. I actually cried watching the vlog because you managed to capture the whole experience , a truly emotional experience. Thank you.

I ran it as a last minute charity entry for Independent Age, first having run the GNR 41 years ago, Hahaha, and the last time was 18 years ago. Half the size of runners then. These crowds 2022 were Awesome. Thank you all for getting me over the finish line. There to enjoy and 3.29hrs was just the ticket for wonderful experience. Thanks Andy for great vlog. I did that run!!! Tears now reliving it. And gonna do next year's GNR when I am 70 years old. 😁🏃👍

I'm a big fan of the GNR(it helps that for me it's just up the road). I love that the whole 13 miles of it has people on the road cheering you on and giving you all the support you need(not to mention sweets). And for me last weekend I got myself a new PB of 1.42, very pleased with that.

Great vlog Andy. It was my 1st GNR & I came from the U.S & it was definitely worth the trip. Good luck in the Amsterdam Marathon; next up for me is the NYC Marathon in November. Great community support for the GNR runners.

I was there running on Sunday as well and this is such a brilliant representation of what it was like. I didn't quite have your insane levels of energy, but iI approached it just like you Andy; get in with the Oggy Oggy Oggy's, high five the kids, drink the beer. The event wasn't without its niggles but as a participator's experience it was up there and I will remember it for a long time! Every local I spoke to was lovely as well and I even got given £15 after in the pub by some locals for my charity!

I loved it It was my time for me and some of my friends enjoying of this great sport event in Newcastle. I loved it ❤

Great memories watching this video - my sister and I were running that day. It was on a completely different scale from any event I’d done before, so some of it was a bit overwhelming - but with more experience since, I’m eager to try it again (didn’t get in this year, sadly).

I did it for the first time in 2021 and immediately bought a membership to guarantee a place for the next 3 years. Absolutely brilliant event!

Great vid mate. I was so close to booking GNR but opted for the Big Half a couple of weeks ago. Although I am doing the Amsterdam Half! So maybe I'll catch up with you over there, I'll plan to spectate the marathon.

Nice one Andy. A really great vlog showing how much you enjoyed the day. I've never run it and now I think I must, but not for a PB attempt as the course seemed crowded the whole way. You'll have to give my local Reading Half a try as that finishes in the football stadium.

Did it last year but didn’t like the new route, glad it’s back to South Shields. I didn’t get in this year but went up as my husband runs it every year 🏅I also ran in 10 years ago and didn’t find it that hilly, great video

It's my local run I ran the first one in 81 and haven't missed a year yet 2022 was my 41st it's always like you showed it and you are right everyone should do the Great North Run at least once...see you again next year?

It really is a unique event. I've run it as a 'serious' run, and also dressed as a flower whilst recovering from concussion. My advice would be go for the fun option every time!

How did you manage to sing and run? 🤣 having done the amended route last year this was my first OG GNR and I loved it, I've bought the membership so there hopefully might still be beer along the way by the time I get there next time! It was a super day, so much support, incredibly hot though!

That looked great fun. Fancy trying it myself. Shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of a Shearer era Saints' shirt to help me integrate. One concern: were there bananas? We saw the medal and shirt but getting the banana is the whole point, surely.

Looks so amazing with all 60k people and the ending at the beach. That's also what I love so much! chill at the beach after a good run. Good job!

Andrew I ran the north run this year a took 7 mins off my previous PB running in 1:42:22 I can’t wait for next year

My first time running it this year, I did it in 1:47 and I’m pretty proud with that considering it’s my first half marathon race!! Incredible atmosphere I had such a blast!!❤️

Hey. I know this video is a little old now, I managed to land a ballot place for this year. So looking forward to it. I’ve sold a kidney and have a hotel for the night. Lol. How do I get back to the start after the finish? Are there buses, or will I need to pay for a taxi back? I suppose I could book a hotel near the finish instead and do it that way round.
