Garrison’s voice is so soothing relative to the sickening noise of the last seven years ago. He is the best living American story teller I’m aware of. Wobegon is a piece of the American heartland. What a contrast. I’ve been a fan the last 35 years. Gratitude and salute.

This guy is awesome, a living national treasure. I don’t care what anybody else says about him. That new show they tried to replace him with, not even close.

Thank you for posting. I miss this voice on the radio. Sadder still that it may never air again.

Garrison was a brilliant and unique storyteller, in my opinion a national treasure. No one else can fill his shoes and what a travesty that he was dumped like pair of old socks. But these monologues are a sort of vindication posted for everyone who loves americana.

I loved the story about the man who lived in the smaller house on his father's farm with his wife as a starter home, but wound up raising his family there, as his father never retired from the farm. To blow off steam the son went out to the silo and vent to himself...and got locked in...then his dad, too. And the reckoning that followed. Wish I knew the name of that story, love to hear it again.

@@quad1000 You're welcome. It might take some time though: I have about three hundred 2-hour shows, and I relisten to them and then publish one by one.

Darryl Tollerud's Long Day - it might be grouped with Thanksgiving, The Royal Family and Hog Slaughter with other Fall stories.
