David's version is just a galactic conqueror, Robert's is far more arrogant and on a personal vendetta, so the arrogant sneering fits better

David's, with some tuning, is basically what I think Darkseid should sound like. Mongul is a warlord, Darkseid is a dictator. So having Mongul in YJ just basically be a copy of Thanos makes no sense.

Robert's performance have a certain level of showmanship that suits the Justice League Animated version of Mongul well due to him being a host for Gladiator games.

Eh. The other guy was better for the role. As much as I like Keith David, every time I hear him, I hear Keith David. Not always a bad thing, but all could think of when Mongul made his appearance in Young Justice and I heard him speak was: "It's The Arbiter, Commander Anderson, Goliath, and that guy from those Navy accelerate your life adds!"

That's actually Eric Roberts. Look him up. If you noticed the role he played in The Dark Knight, good eye. To be fair, though, I thought that was Ron Perlman when I first heard it to. The two had VERY similar voices and I could see them both playing the role more so than Keith, as much as I love Keith.
