The first episode follows Buck and Amy, an expat couple living in Beijing, planning and embarking on an epic journey through one of the world's largest and most diverse countries. They travel to the south of China to pitch the executives of Chinese motorcycle company to sponsor their journey, team up with a local charity, visit an old Manchu summer retreat, take a motorboat into North Korean waters, and experience a major mechanical malfunction. And that's all just within the first 10 days!
This is currently the only episode produced from the nearly 100 hours of footage taken during the trip. The pilot was a labor of love, self-financed, and worked on with the help of friends over the course of nearly 6 months.
