The Great Sasuke chronicles a-year-in-the-life of an aging Japanese professional wrestler and politician who once enjoyed a great fame. Reflecting on his 20 turbulent years as a wrestler, Sasuke decides to climb back into both arenas -- wrestling and politics -- for a final battle royale.
Hey guys! Please enjoy the film as I’ve wanted to make it available to all while we are all hunkered down at this time. Stay safe and healthy! - Mikiko

Another super rare thing, is to see a culture proud of its history, that has manners, embraces the “family” and isnt called racist for its history that includes everything every other culture has committed. Oh sweet irony

Thanks so much for making this publicly available! I was heartbroken when I found out about the bay area screening a week too late and have been waiting to see this film ever since! Ironically, I was supposed to see Sasuke wrestle next weekend - already bought my meet and greet ticket - but obviously the show is not happening. Anyway, thanks again.

The post-match staggering made me sigh in sadness. The boils and scars all over his body upset me, too. The things these guys put their bodies through... And then you see all those boys excited as hell to see him. The kids having a blast at one of his matches and you realize what they do this for.

This was great. It really shows how people struggle to do what they love in wrestling when they're no longer in the big promotions. It's even harder in Japan especially given he's not based out of Tokyo. He has a sort of boldness, but like the guy says he's also sloppy so it can come off looking desperate. I don't think I'd be better in his situation, but it's kind of saddening to see him having to beg people on the phone to attend, getting ignored on the street or thinking he'd win the elections but losing.
