One thing people often forget is that Thalmor aren't just Elf Supremacists, they're High Elf Supremacists. They are very much commiting horrible crimes on not just Humans, but also Wood Elves and High Elves of "lesser blood purity". Now to be perfectly honest it isn't like anyone in TES can claim to be guilt free when it comes to atrocities committed against other races, but Thalmor are a very close second after the hopefully extinct Ayelids- close cousins of the High Elves. And speaking of the "Heartland Elves", there is some pretty legit evidence pointing towards upper echelons of Thalmor being not High Elves, but Ayelid descendants, which makes a lot of sense considering who the Ayelids were- when the creator gods themselves decide to send a demigod of genocide after your whole race for the crimes your society committed, you're a very special kind of messed up...

Pelinor Whitestrake is essentially the Elder Scrolls equivalent of The Terminator, a one-man army whose name is best understood as a by-word for turbo-murder.

Lorkhan is the Elven name for Shor/Shezarr and is the missing god of the pantheon. There should be 9 divines but there are nearly always 8. That is primarily because Auriel/Akatosh kills Lorkhan at the start of each cycle of the world. Then Trinimac rips out his heart and fires it into the world (this is a trick as Lorkhan literally becomes the heart of the world). The central conflict between Auriel and Lorkhan is over the lost immortality of the Aedra vs the benefits of mortality given to their descendants. Auriel is the champion of immortality and Lorkhan of mortality. The lesser spirits that supported Auriel became the Elves. The lesser spirits that supported Lorkhan became men (which is why the Nords describe Shor as the former king of the gods who was betrayed by his closest lieutenant). Men and the Elves are literally repeating the same fight on earth that their gods did in the heavens. In fact the ascension of Talos to the 9th divine literally stabilised reality and put a stop to the Mer plan to make reality go away so they could become immortal again. Talos is literally a stand in for Lorkhan. The Thalmor want Talos gone because he is literally cosplaying as the Elven Trickster god which is about as infuriating a thing as you can get for them. Also if they want to become immortal, something they allude to in in-game text, they need him gone. Anyway Pelinal Whitestrake was a hero originally from the time when the Elves still enslaved men and was a champion of St Alessia, the slave queen who first freed men from Elven domination. He's almost certainly a Shezarrine, an avatar of the missing god, and very much dedicated his life to eliminating the Aldmer. So successfully that the remaining Aldmer changed the name of their race in the hope he'd stop. Talos and the last dragonborn are also likely Shezarrines. The big difference between the two sides is the Thalmor are fully aware of the cosmic implications of what they are doing. Whereas the Nords just realise they need to kill a lot of Elves for some reason. The Thalmor literally want to wipe out humanity to even erase the concept of mortality from the universe. They'll fail of course because when the universe ends Lorkhan just tricks everyone into reforming Nirn again.

3:21 That's actually an excellent point. The Mer are the ONLY race in Skyrim that have a weapon that is specifically deadly to them, other than the Dragons (with Dragonbane). The closest you get is Dawnbreaker, but that is deadly to all types of undead, which is multiple races, not a specific one.

Pelinel Whitestrake is a guy who backed the slave rebellion that made Cyrodiil a human country. He personally killed every named Elf king in the war. He died waging a one man siege on the Imperial city and there were no armed elves left to resist the rebels by the time they got there to help.

Pelinal Whitestrake is to the elves what Doom Slayer is to Demons, except Doom Guy never went on a killing spree ouside of hellish invasion, because he tought that Khajiit are just weird looking elves.

The worst part is that Bethesda is very likely to fuck up TES6. On an unrelated note, thalmor is also very likely to be trying to unrawel Akatosh (aka time) by disabling all the towers so that mer would be immortal again.

And now, an entirely unprompted explanation of the concept of Dragonbreaks. Picture, if you will, a branching of timelines from one single event. An infinite number of possible outcomes and resolutions to that one event. A Dragonbreak is when the event or the circumstances around it are so momentous they twist the laws of time and causality; timelines branch, then are crashed back together and twisted into an insane Gordian knot of ~every possible outcome occuring at once~. The entirety of reality enters a Schrodinger state that does not resolve even when observed. The only thing that stops it is the conclusion of the event that started it, by any of the infinite outcomes possible. This makes it so that everyone has different recollections of what actually happened during this time, *and none of them are provably wrong*. The sheer confusion historians on Nirn must deal with is maddening to think about. Every game we play in the ES series is canonically a Dragonbreak, which is why we have basically either no or all continuation of previous storylines each game.

Pelinal Whitestrake hates elves more than ANY other character I've read about in any fantasy setting. Ever. It's honestly impressive how much he hates Altmer (Aeliads) and understandably with very good reason. But based off of feats he did in the lore, some of which inexplicable and jarring to those who witnessed them, it's clear that he was something more than human and a highly probable time traveler. Judging from the trailer and what I've been told, the most likely setting for TES 6 is going to be High Rock, land of knights and druids. Personally, I kinda hope the map envelopes part of Hammerfell as well; the Redguards are some of the only people to _decisively_ kick the shit out of the Thalmor, so it would make sense to feature them if the Second Great War (or at least the events leading up to it) is an important plot-line. Also, I'm dying to see more Redguard stuff (it would be cool to meet the Ansei - "sword-saints" - and learn Yokudan blade arts from them or something like that). Maybe they could center the map around the Iliac Bay region like it was in Daggerfall (TES 2).

I recall playing the medieval 2 TES Mod, (which is set shortly before the oblivion crisis), awaiting the darn elves at anvil with my legions when they finaly came, a glorious day for mankind we kicked them back into the ocean, good times.

one point that was failed to be pointed out was that the Thalmor's entire invasion army was present in the Capital, Emperor Titus had effectively crippled the entire Thalmor military in a night, and brought the war to a complete halt, with the Dominions reserves running on fumes and the Imperial military struggling to stand on its own (with the exception of the nords) its with this information in mind that helps me realize why Hammerfell and Skyrim hated the emperor so much, fighting a defensive war to a standstill is by all accounts a victory for the defenders, and yet by end Titus had surrendered the very things to the thalmor that started the war in the first place, so not only was their way of life cut and stomped on, (which are very important to nords in particular), but it also ment that everyone who died protecting that way of life was for naught, despite them winning the war, to those that survived it was like the emperor spat in the face of the people who won him the war

There are a lot of elf types in TES. Are they all awful? Bosmer are pretty annoying, but I don't know enough about them to call them a complete scourge on the world. The Orcs seem okay. A bit strange with the whole one dude bangs all the SheOrcs in a group but if you are that dude it is not all bad. I kind of honestly hate the Dunmer the most. They just seem to happy about their awful little area. I have been to Morrowind and it is pretty terrible.

In Elder Scrolls even the orcs and dwarves are elves which makes them automatically the worst version of elves. But at least the orcs are fairly based. But yeah fuck the high elves and the thalmor in particular.

I have never played Skyrim. I have never watched any major gameplay of Skyrim. My knowledge of Skyrim is this: Dragons speak and magic happens, there are both werewolves AND werebears, there's a dragon that thinks because he was evil that makes him better than any inherently good races, there may be an evil dragon god of time (maybe), and a scene exists asking if you are awake that has been memed to Hell and back multiple times over. Now I also know they did their knife ears proper as they can be outside of Tolkien's works. Also: LOTS of NSFW mods.

In the next game the thalmor should just be hilariously evil like enclave in fallout 2 and 3. Just absurdly evil main bad guys and you should be able to inflict tonnes of war crimes during the course of campaign against em. Hell they basically are the elf version of enclave as they were set up in skyrim. Skyrim's natives should have honestly been retconned into being classic fantasy dwarves or atleast some those in some of skyrims holds. I'm not too knowledgeable about Elder Scrolls. I favor Fallout... which also has great fan loremasters. The Storyteller series and Oxhorn in particular come to mind, though I know there are others.
