One of the better crossovers between Marvel & DC, and one that I still own! Nicely done!

Thanks for sharing this story with us Dave! I've always wanted to read it but struggled to find a good story. So it's nice to have an audiobook/as told by toys version

I actually came up with that idea and spent a year drawing and writing it for my SVA assignment when I was in school at SVA, my teacher drew for both DC and Marvel at the time and left my proposal at the Marvel offices by mistake for a couple of weeks and then Whamo!! Less than a year later this book came out using my concept but with an altered story and the art redrawn, coincidence? I came up with it as a way to submit to both Marvel and DC by creating the idea for this cross over when I was around 19 or so in school... I figured how could Marvel and DC ever do a cross over with the 4 characters... hmmm... My teacher didn't appear to be a part of it and I believe it was someone who spotted my proposal in the Marvel offices, and thought to take the idea and make it their own, not the first time this happened to me or to others too, what power would us student in school have, we don't own the rights to these characters but in a way, it's nice the work got made. The final book looked completely different but the concept and idea was all drawn in my version of the a full comic book nearly a year before so makes one wonder, but either way if it was coincidence, then it is what it is... ...It also happened before that with Robin's costume design for Batman Forever which I submitted for Batman Returns 2 years before it came out. The Toy by Kenner/Hasbro looked like my designed but they changed the mask in the movie. The Created of the Batman movie costume Bob Ringwood and Mary Voght personally wrote me when I submitted it around age 16 I was and said Robin would not appear in Batman returns after all but that they would consider hiring me when I got out of school if I pursued them, but I shifted from costumes to comics by they, they did have Robin in the Batman Forever movie using very similar designs to my own down to the birds on the tops of the boot spats, but I was too young and naive back then that I was just hoping they would mentioned special thanks in the credits. Had no idea about suing back then. But that would be a hard sue because redesigning an existing character doesn't give much rights or protection for the re-designer, only to the owners of the IP (C) etc. My work and ideas had been used and taken by other companies without credit or pay for quite a while, thus I created my company and when 2 companies overseas tried to take my work which I had copyrighted and Trademarked and had published in print and on TV, I sued the hell out of them and settled out of court for my win! Dude you are my spirit animal. My two faves Batman and Spider-Man. Who knew Joker and Carnage mixed so well? I remember reading this right off the rack. I adore this book and art. Bagley did some more Batman when Dick Grayson was in the Cowl after Batman RIP too. Good stuff. Loved this trip down yesteryear.

Batman and Daredevil Fear Itself was another good story. When Scarecrow hits Daredevil with his fear gas and all of a Sudden Daredevil starts laughing it was great

In my era, it was the Superman vs Spider-man giant size crossover ( which shows my age.) the Now I can't recollect reading it yet it was a big crossover for its time. Would you consider a As told by Toys segment on that.?

Seems like a missed opportunity to not have the symbiote bond with Joker, I was almost sure that would be the climax.

I hate to admit, I stopped reading comics just before the identity of the Hobgoblin was revealed.

This comic should definitely be adapted into an animated movie. Who's with me?

I just watched this in the meantime, I hope it is true, a "post celebrity" era, where they also learn that the internet has basically (and continues to) level the playing field more and more, and their mystique and glamour has sort of faded away. Now people will learn that these snobs are actually obnoxious and hateful being, and the "every-man" is much more preferable.
