I've watched all your videos! I found your channel because I bought an Olympus XA because I wanted to start my journey in film. Beginner here! I'm amazed on how you almost have perfect exposures everytime. I hope one day you could have a mini tutorial for beginners like me in film. Always have a good day with your family :)

I was already thinking during the week. hey did I even see a Brendon video on sunday this sunday? :D okay that answers my question. I wish good recovery! I have to agree with you though that Ektar really is one of the best film stocks ever. The problem with the blown out highlights i actually did not noticed so far. It probably depends on how you scan Ektar. Anyway you are the master of this film stock.:D

Yeah it really does depend on the scanning as well I agree. Some labs have given me amazing results to be fair. I’ve only got one more roll of it right now so I’m going to try overexpose a couple of shots! Thanks as always Dan, you the man!

I've never shot Ektar. It looks like a really specific film. Youve got some stunning shots with it. Glad you've recovered from the cobids :)

I love shooting Ektar and I don’t understand why so many people go for Portra all the time when Ektar is there for the shooting as well! Great video as always man!!!

I hadn't shot a single roll of Ektar until a few months ago...since then, it's been one of the rolls I've shot the most, as it's been procuing pretty cool results during Summer time here in Portugal, and the colours are saturated and look amazing! Well done bro!

Great video and I love these images, they are special. Glad you recovered from Covid, that's no fun! I love Ektar, I'm not sure I could say what my all time favorite color film is, maybe between colorplus and ektar (when it comes out right), but hard to say as different films work differently in different scenarios, did I say different enough? lol

I think I was out a total of like 2-3 days. I also share your love of Colourplus, I just picked up some the other day and I'm so keen to shoot it again.

Glad to hear you have recovered from that dreaded virus lol I have no right to give any thoughts on Ektar just yet need to try it again using my preferred lab this time. Those shots you shared though really make me wanna give it another go, beautiful stuff. That shot of the old church house in Wales is perfecto 👌

My favourite colour negative film was Agfa Ultracolor 100. Once that was discontinued, I went to Ektar and haven’t looked back.

I've only ever shot an expired roll of that and I absolutely loved it, I can see why you switched to Ektar!

@@thefilmdaddy When I used to shoot mostly transparencies, Kodachrome and Fuji Velvia were my favourites. When Kodachrome was discontinued, I switched to Velvia. I then went to Agfa Ultra for prints when it was rated at ISO 50/18°; that was replaced with Ultra 100/21°. Then I switched to Ektar after Agfa discontinued Ultra. They keep discontinuing all my favourites!

The greatest film stock has to be Kodachrome. Just looking at photos taken on that blows me away

I honestly wish I could shoot this one day. I have heard its a bit of a nightmare to develop these days, but honestly, I would agree. Here's hoping Kodak brings it back!
