TURBO OVERKILL is my GOTY. It's the fastest fps I have EVER played yet the movement is TOTALLY controllable and feels natural. After a couple of levels I was flying (literally) without having to think about my keystrokes. Direct extension of my body. It's that good.

Creem, you should totally try Post Void if you haven't already. It's definitely uhm... _unique_, but it's so different from other movement shooters and so identifiable. The only problem is that it's really short, but for the time spent on it, it's incredible

Wow, the game does look amazing, especially with this breath taking editing of yours (you are getting really freaking insane at it), but unfortunately it does not seem like i can shoot pennies with a pis- nah i'm joking, i will give this game a try... as soon as i recover financially... from throwing away all of my pocket change... at people...maybe... but the video was good, hope it strikes the algorithm soon, and your channel grows big and strong!

It honestly sounds like endgame risk of rain 2 just without the looping, slower start, compounding of all stats, and more than one weapon kit usable at the same time. Sounds fun!

Neon White is great, you should really give it a try. Its less like traditional shooters, and more like a fast-paced puzzle platformer with a side of target practice. Also, instead of healing through blood, you heal through cringe dialogue instead.

It's important to note that while Turbo Overkill does indeed have some of the finest combat of any shooter on the market, what really makes it stand out is the blisteringly absurd level of quality of the campaign. Lots of games have great movement, none in recent memory have a campaign with such expertly tuned pacing with a gradual escalation of both story and gameplay, and a mindblowing amount of variety with gorgeous and expansive vehicle sections and lots of interesting encounters that stray away from the traditional linear hallway-arena-linear hallway-arena design you see in games like Boltgun. The fact this game was made by one guy is incomprehensible. If it wasn't for the chunky pixels you would never be able to tell it wasn't a AAA game made by a studio at the top of their craft.

Went in blind, first playthrough on Murder machine "because yeah, I can deal with fps only on the hardest difficulty" and... It was SO MUCH FUN. It really reminded me of Doom Eternal on Nightmare, but those chainsaws made it feel even better (thanks to the augments that give health and ammo back).

That's fair enough, i think it's definitely not their main focus, they're moreso used to counter different enemies and that's where the varied usage comes from.

I finished this a while back. It was very well made and presented but something about it at its core feels off to me. It's hard to put into words. I just know that I don't like how the guns sound, how the hardest difficulty takes away healing items around the levels and disables quick-saving (which I could put up with until one level in the third chapter where Maw began spawning like a common enemy and sent me back to the last checkpoint a million times), boss fights just kept spawning enemies to distract me from the 1v1 I wanted to have with the boss, and I never had fun with the secret levels.

Yeah I agree with the difficuilty part, I was playing on Serve me pain for the majority of the game until I think chapter 3 where the difficuilty got to a point where it wasn't really that fun anymore so I went down to street cleaner. From what I've heard, Murder Machine isnt intended to be for the first playthrough and is more of a meme challenge rather than a proper difficuilty. As far as the gun sounds go, I think they could be a bit beefier but I didnt mind them too much.

Murder machine requires good knowledge in the game and build-marking, good skills and mastery of the gameplay, easy to say, it isn’t particularly easy to play if you are not good enough

@@ert5419 I know they do. Here's my problem: Serve Me Pain is too easy while Murder Machine is too hard. There are augments that let you gain health and armour from killing enemies with the chegg and, really, I think that should be just a default function of the chegg; it's downright necessary. Not only that but it'd make the secret levels better because I am no longer stiffed without access to the Splice machine.

I'm gonna be a weirdo and mention Warframe for a game with incredibly fun and good movement tech. Yeah, it's 3rd person, it'll take you a good 200 hours of playtime until you've unlocked all the gear required to get full schmovement going, but once you do? Ohhh baby. It is oh so worth it. It's also worth mentioning that the game didn't have and intended movement tech in the beginning, but players figured out how to abuse melee weapons for it. Devs went "hey, that's pretty good" and reworked said mechanic into the core movement tech instead.

One thing that built movement and you didn't mention: Quake, from quake doom was made also from quake Half life was made and from half life, team fortress mod was made, and from that mod team fortress 2 was made, which has some of the best movement and describes: Easy to pick up, hard to master

5:41 tf2 rocket jumping, also you should play neon white it's pretty cool but I'd suggest you don't 100% it, I finished all of the game except for 2 achievements in the first ~20 hrs, then spent another 60 hrs getting the last 2

Honestly the "Corruption Zones" idea isn't my cup of tea. It arbitrarily limits the player's agency for convenient "plot reasons" which I think just kneecaps the amount of fun that the game could have. The game should positively reinforce the player to use all the different weapons while not punishing them for their choices or what ones they may or may not excel at.

That's fair enough, for me I felt like that wasn't the purpose, and certainly didnt feel that way. I saw it as a way to remind the player that these new weapons they've been unlocking are viable too! I never really saw it as a punishment and actually was interested in which combo they were gonna give me next. But hey agree to disagree :)

Well there's good new for you then. There are secret chips to collect in the game that will allow custom mutations during the game like infinite ammo, chainsaw only, damage over time during the mission. And one of those is anti corruption, which disables all corruption zones. So there you go. May mean you have to go secret hunting and still go through a few corruption zones first. But at least it's their and you can see for yourself if the mechanic is as disruptive as it feels.

the only thing i really have to complain about it is that shooting the guns dont FEEL that satisfying, maybe a little meatyness on it will help, but im not a developer, nor am i a game reviews website.

The problem with this game is graphics style does not fit the cyber dystopia it works for ultrakill but not for this. If they overhaul the graphics this would be the game of the year. story, soundtrack and gameplay everything is 10 /10
