This is a epic video. Thanks for the content. I was wondering why such the big live bait. But then to see the size of the fish you caught explained the bait size. Giant crappie equals giant catfish. To bad I'm not allowed to use those baits here in Ontario Canada.

Thanks for watching man! My advice instead of trying to pry the locations that I fish from me is to watch guys like Steve Douglas the Catfish Dude, Catfish and Carp, Muddy River Catfishing, etc. As they have great educational breakdowns on what to look for for Catfish. That way you can not try and ask people where they are fishing but rather make informed choices for yourself and fish where you think would be good. You'll strike out a lot it's very hard even still for me but you need to think like a Catfish and then spend a bunch of time on the water.

Can't use crappie for bait in MO. On Truman they have to be 9" to keep, filets are much nicer from a 12" - 14" fish. 15 per day on the lake, state limit is 30. Obviously GREAT catfish bait, lol. Very cool, I LOVE flathead. Edit, we used to measure big cats between the eyes 😉

@@ChasingtheMobyThere are lots of big cats, throw net for shad, rough fish can all be used, as can bluegill etc. There is a slot limit on Truman for blue cat, they are trying to let them get big before harvest. You kicked some butt that night ! Congrats Bud 👍👍

I would’ve filleted the crappie and put all the carcasses on ice for cut bait and maybe kept a live one or 2. That’s just me though.
