There are countless world class players that aren't expected to track back and receive no backlash for it because of how they play, find space, and what they can do in the opponents half. The board never surrounded him with players good enough. Maybe 1 or 2 at different times with the likes of Santi and Sanchez but it was never consistent and 1 or 2 isn't enough. Regardless of his alleged lack of discipline, you have to learn how to deal with that and cater to the biggest talent in your team. Or else it will end with mediocrity as ever Arsenal fan repeatedly witnessed. This luxury is afforded to the world's creative types and star players but for some reason never was for Ozil

More leading, more driven to be successful. Who treats his own career like Özil did for the last couple of years, is not a world class player. Özil had it all and many people protected him for a long time, but he threw it away.
