I won a local tournament with a Raichu d focused deck right before nats. I never thought to put exeggcutor with it. I was so happy for them! 🥰

God I miss the Delta Species Pokemon! I really liked that mechanic. Dawg that Solrock Lunatone deck sounds so fun! I had no idea what the meta was in that era, I only collected at the time.

Ive always thought if the tcg was to ever get a proper standalone game with a story, then it should be set during the holon era. The game has had a few unique concepts over the years (such as break and ancient trait pokemon) but nothing quite as interesting as holon

There were 2 games of the TCG on Game Boy. The first was fun. The second added a bunch of weird rules that just made the game unrecognizable and then they never made another. There wasn't really a story beyond "go win at the theme totally not gyms, and then win against totally not the e4 of cards"

Sadly Lunatone LM does not turn off Houndoom UF's Poke-Body, as Lunatone only targets Poke-Powers. The most significant card that Lunatone turns off is Magcargo DX and its Smooth Over Power. Also, Regirock ex was actually primarily used as a RaiEggs counter! Although the card can be helpful in other matchups, it is unlikely players were playing it before the debut of RaiEggs. One more remark: Latios and Latias also shut off Rhydon HL, whose Poke-Body prevents any damage dealt to the bench. Rhydon can be really annoying for RaiEggs if it doesnt play Latios/Latias

Unsure tbf! If I had to guess probably the cat being out the bag was a big factor, Pooka told me surprise factor was a massive reason why it went so well so I guess as soon as your opponent flipped over a Pikachu to start the game you know what was up this time maybe 🤣

I am speculating but my guess is, once the deck was known, people adapted around it. I wonder if there's any public list somewhere where we could see what decks placed that year - without having to go bother someone where there.

Ohh fair enough I gotchu! I will make a pinned comment to make sure others don't make that mistake 😂🙏 it was the guy who won nats that got banned (later on) pokemons ban reasons aren't public so we dont know why unfortunately
